European NS'rs... how do you feel about the NFL in London?

The NFL will never catch on in Europe. Why? We tried the CFL in the United States around 17 years ago, and it flopped. Miserably. Sure, that CFL team won, but the following year, that league folded.

When football means soccer in Europe, I know that they know that I know that they know that American rugby will never catch on in Europe. Such a shame their bastardized version caught on in Canada to such a point we have the CFL and refer to football as soccer, and American rugby as football.

Someone hasn't been tracking with attendance figures at London NFL games or the rise of American football in Europe, obviously.

The landscape has shifted dramatically just in the past ten years. I was surprised too.

As I am typing this, the Rams are tied with the Pats (short for Patriots) 7-7 in London. The NFL has been showing interest in London recently. (NFL being National "american" Football League). London might just be home to a new NFL team soon... and being an avid fan of the Ravens (An NFL team, oh yeah, we also beat the Pats this year! PAYBACK IS A B**** AIN'T IT NEW ENGLAND!?), I sure hope London joins in on the fun. My question though is... Europeans, how do you feel about an NFL team in Europe?

And anyway, it'll never catch on. Firstly, it's got a heavily ingrained opposition and secondly, it'd take too much work to be competitive. The Northern Hemisphere sometimes isn't even competitive and they've been playing at top level for years.

The majority of the southern hemisphere teams are hardly competitive in the same sense as Oz, NZ and SA. The only opposition are really the northern teams.

Considering that part of the attraction of European football to me is the fact that it's 22 men running around in shorts, with some of them fairly hot, I couldn't care less about a sport where the players wear scaffolding and masks.

All those tight ends and wide receivers wearing skin-tight uniforms, gathering in a huddle, trying to grab hold of each other before showering naked - together.....

On that basis I'm not sure your average American football player or fan is that interested in women anyway; let's face it, it's the most homoerotic sport on the planet.
