Yes, but the Old Testament is still significant; that is why it is in the Holy Bible.

Frisivisia wrote:Christians are certainly horrible to gays and muslims. Let's not forget about the troubles in the Balkans, caused by Christianity and Islam clashing.

Christians might be, but Christianity odes not call for that.

If Christianity is the best religion, wouldn't the best religion be a peaceful one?

No, I did not understand what your question was. The Old Testament is real.

If you don't believe the entire bible in its entirety or make up excuses to not believe in it, you are not a true christian. Jesus said in Mathew 5:17-18.

"The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders. raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did."—former Nixon domestic policy chief John Ehrlichman

Christianity, of an oddly unrthodox protestant variety.

Unorthodox mostly in the sense that in my community it is strange to be a Christian who believes evolution to be scientifically valid, and gay marriage isn't a sin.

I'd fit in broadstrokes with most tolerant Christians, though I am in no way liberal about my faith.

Believing in evolution is not unorthodox. I believe in evolution and creationism.
