So, in other words, you don't believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ.

Someone once asked me "Tell me, how do you define hypocrisy?".
And I said to him "Hypocrisy, for me, is a socialist preaching about the prestige and merit of an anti-capitalist comedian's message, praising his critical thought regarding commodity and exchange value, but then going out and buying his DVD."
While you're praising the message, that comedian is only using left wing agendas as a gimmick. While you're listing him as an inspiration, he's getting richer.

I believe in a soul, I'm probably pro-gay marriage but in most cases anti-abortion. Also, I see little difference between different types of Christians or even between Christians and Jews.
Are there any other theistic Christians here who have beliefs that aren't mainstream in your denomination?
(Also, no anti-Christian flaming please.)
A Christian IS a Theist.![]()
I suppose the fact that I reject the idea of having denominations is unorthodox....

unOrthodox yes, but not unorthodox. You see, the Orthodox are orthodox, but not all orthodox are Orthodox.
Of course we Orthodox are orthodox; therefore all non-Orthdox are heterodox, and have some unorthodox beliefs. It is possible that some Orthodox hold unorthodox beliefs too, but not necessarily heterodox ones that are unOrthodox. But while all Orthodox are orthodox, even if they hold unorthodox but not heterodox beliefs, your statement that not all orthodox are Orthodox is only ever true within particular subsets of heterodoxy.
I hope that clears things up.

Not an ethnicity in that way...I mean identifying as a Christian but not actually agreeing with Christianity, if ya get what I'm saying. E.g., an atheist kid going to church because his whole family goes, being agnostic but praying and doing lent, etc.

Another face of things was seen, and I became a Tory.
Occasional conformists base
I blamed their moderation;
And thought the Church in danger was from such prevarication.

Still I'll be the Vicar of Bray, sir.
