Were it not for their massive war machine, they would have remained in obscure poverty. And it was proven, too, for when the Germans failed to expand their economy imploded, as the money they pilfered from European banks slowly seeped away and the labor dried up due to their completely lacking economy built as a stage show rather than a sturdy house.

No. Not even close. The German economy under Hiter's Nazi regime was built upon the war industry. Not even the arms industry, which though overly specialized might have done somewhat well, the war industry. Hitler's Germany required large scale war to support its economy, as proven due to his pilfering of foreign banks and the German collapse when they started losing the war.

The Right Wing in France could mean one of two things. The UMP or the FN. The UMP is very mildly conservative and is center right while the FN is hard right (though moderated slightly during recent years). The UMP was the one defeated in the elections, which is actually good for the FN because it gives Marine Le Pen an opening to try and become the main rightist challenger to the socialists. So, paradoxically, the Socialists winning the election could actually be good for conservatives in France, at least in the longer term.

I live in one of the wealthiest countries in the European Union, and I'll tell you straight away - it's despite the amount of immigrants, and certainly not because of the amount of immigrants. If you look at the amount of money spent on immigrants here, it's much more than the amount of money earned by immigrants. There is a very real problem with Afro-Caribbeans, North Africans, Arabs and Sub-Saharan Africans. They tend to reject our values, have extreme crime rates (65% of all Moroccan men are criminals, for example, and 55% of all Afro-Caribbean men) and have extreme unemployment rates also.

Somewhat more generally - relevant to, but not solely to this thread, but serving as a nifty opportunity for me to link to when needed -, the argument that immigrants are 'Stealing Jobs' from the natives is fundamentally retarded.

Economics, and this includes employment, aren't a zero sum game. When an immigrant gets a job and earns money, he's going to spend at least some of it. Even including the (Likely) possibility of him sending money back to where he came from to support the relatives he left behind, even including the (Rather less likely, but it happens) possibility that he doesn't pay (All) taxes - quite possibly because paying them would get him deported -, he's still going to spend money on clothes, on living space, on furniture, on food, on transportation, and and and.

Spending this money means that said immigrant generates jobs. There's one more person around asking, and paying for services! One more person to buy manufactured goods! These services have to be rendered, the goods have to be manufactured.

Bang, more jobs.

I realise that this is likely way over the head of the 'Nuuuimmigrantsbad!' folks, given that their logic apparently works on 'Immigrants are lazy fucks who never work and rely on our social services. Also, they take jobs away from us natives.', but well, their staggering logical inconsistency nonwithstanding, it still needs to be said.

This is what we're talking about. They work less, and they commit far more crimes.

As for crime, I note that your original claim that 'Two Thirds' of Maroccans are criminals. I'm afraid that your linked source 1. suggests less than 50% and 2. lists suspects (Arrests?) - not guilty verdicts. Which probably explains the staggering twenty percent rate for natives - I sincerely doubt that 20% of Dutch are criminals (Barring traffic violations in Germany, obviously).

This does still suggest higher crime rates, but, you know... Not actually that much higher than the native population.

You are talking about Greece having one of the smallest immigrant populations of Europe. This is correct - if you only count legally registered immigrants. However, one of the big unsolved issues in Greece today is that of illegal immigration. With a total population of 11 million and app. 1 million illegal immigrants, Greece acutally has one of the highest, if not thehighest population percentage in the EU.

Naturally, most of those people are not heading for Greece when they leave their homes, but Europe - however, they end up in Greece, courtesy of the Dublin II agreement, which states that asylum applicants have to reside in the EU country they first set foot in. For geographical reasons, the country in question usually isn't Sweden. This is worsened by a Turkish policy that deliberately lets travelers from various poor nations in without a visa regime, and deliberately ignores them leaving Turkey again across the Greco-Turkish border.

It would be hard to argue that illegal immigration is somehow chiefly responsible for the economic and unemployment crisis in Greece. However, with no jobs to apply for, no legal residences and no nutrition, many illegal immigrants, especially in the big cities, are naturally turning to crime to survive. This is a considerable additional burden for an already impoverished and worn down citizenry.
