IT HAD A VETO-PROOF MAJORITY! IN BOTH THE HOUSE AND SENATE! A veto would have just meant the same vote and it passes.

Plus, the NDAA was actually a military budget bill, one that HAS to be passed every two years BY CONSTITUTIONAL LAW.

All candidates want to cut spending...and getting us out of the debt is a fools' dream for a President.

As long as there's people over his head (IE the federal government) to keep him from doing crazy things like ban cigarettes (which he tried to do via his wife), yeah I guess.

Being a good local leader and being a good federal leader are two entirely different things. It's like saying a good basketball player is a good baseball player by virtue of being good at basketball.
