Gang violence in Los Angeles did get reduced because of gun laws or restrictions.
It was reduced with unorthodox approaches like explaining why gang life is bad and targeting the culture for years hiring ex gang members to help.

That is called dumb short term thinking that does not manage a problem.It tries to eliminate it by trying to make people incapable of killing which ultimately fails for a couple reasons.
A.You cant stop all the guns.
B.People do not need guns to kill one another.IF AN old grandma can kill her husband with a tea cup....what makes you think you need a gun to kill.This happened in LA btw.

The South, which I think we'd agree is a pretty militant place, still has a higher murder rate compared to other regions.

Well, there's obviously other factors, but there's a noticeable correlation in gun restrictions vs homicides per capita.
