Not really. Usual "vote for me" pap with some "falling middle class wages" BS from Mitt.

He could declare himself the lizard-king and draw swastikas all over Bob Scheiffer's face it wouldn't change how this debate went.

Don't really see why, since that would require a Vishnu-esque profile on American soldiers to maintain combat effectiveness.

Unless we're still using the same charging, trench-warfare tactics we used in 1916. In which case our generals are just plain stupid.

Same knife, a combat knife can still be built to be equipped as a bayonet.

But you wouldn't use a 1916 version of a bayonet as a combat knife, would you?

The things are unwieldy as hell. Modern bayonets are basically just combat knives with little rings to attach to the gun.

So you're going to run, because so far Obama just beat Romney into the ground and you've already made it clear you don't like Obama?

Is the debate as terribly one-sided as my friend is telling me?

He told me, that to a large effect, Obama is simply destroying Romney at every turn.

Obama edges out on the debate but relatively flat closing statements by both candidates and this was disappointing. Further Obama could have really ended Romney tonight but didnt. This could haunt him 2 weeks from now.

The overall point is you don't use bayonets in combat anywhere near as much as you did in 1917. And that's mostly because we realized how useless they were back then and how much more useless they are by now.

Romney first cried to the mod to give him a chance, then when Obama brought up that he did nothing to save the auto industry in Detroit, he cried ad hominem.

That's pretty much what the folks on ABC are saying. Romney got hammered.

The only point made in Romney's favor was that he was able to turn the debate towards the economy and domestic policy so often.

Mitt Romney was basically just mauled by Barrack Obama but they seem to be pretending it was very close.

I'd call it a fair assessment, Obama never let a chance to hit Romney slide and put him on the defensive a lot.

It's because Romney doesn't have any solid details on his economic plan, so he's pretty beat there. All he can really do is point out that Obama hasn't gotten us out of debt (even though the economy has improved, so that's a bit moot).

As for foreign policy, Romney is basically bitch-slapping the founding fathers in the face. He keeps bringing up the idea of "allies and friends", when the founding fathers specifically were against "permanent and entangling alliances".

Obama sees an increase in the polls.

Obama should probably have punched Romney in the face and told him 'Good luck in 2016. And 2020.' instead of recalling some pseudo-eloquent prewritten statement.

Romney spent the entire debate reeling. Obama was aggressive and Mitt Romney was flighty. He straight up refused to answer some questions and did everything in his power to avoid getting within the presidents reach.
