Yes.

Because the President can totally ensure the safety of every single diplomat in the Mideast.

IIRC, the last people to TCB in Afghanistan had to do so by building mountains of skulls.

We can't stay in Afghanistan forever. They have to pick up the slack eventually.

Afghanistan is a fundie shithole, it is literally one of the most worthless pieces of land on the planet. Them and Somalia are probably the biggest wastes of time in history.

And we've done our part. We either trust them to do theirs, or we remain in Afghanistan for the remainder of America's life. The choice should be obvious.

Slightly disappointed neither candidate has said they'd beat the shit out of the Saudi royal family and a transition towards more democracy. Because that'd be great, so long as not too many other people got hurt. Because it's not like the Saudis aren't using the US massively, despite amusing claims it's the other way around.

My seat belt keeps me safe but it doesn't mean I cannot die in a car accident. Maybe the problem here is that you're being deliberately obtuse. You didn't believe Obama was promising to prevent all deaths at all times forever, so why claim you did?

Right. Let's just piss away money in foreign affairs when we're supposed to be rebuilding our economy.

Romney knows whereof he speaks when it comes to companies shutting down and moving operations to China. He was responsible for shutting down a number of them.

Yes, Mitt, we know you've watched businesses close down and ship jobs overseas...

It's a shame there's not a more philosophical argument as to whether the Chinese need jobs more or less than Americans, and why that's allegedly the case.

It's ok. We already know you don't have the slightest clue what you are talking about, you don't have to keep reminding us.

Mitt is not aware of the framing.
"...I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season." -MLK Jr.

Mitt Romney had to have seen Obama's trap, it's the only way he could place his balls directly in it.

I know, but, you know. The US actually pays to station its troops there to defend the oil fields the Saudis stripped from American ownership in the 1980s. Sigh.

You realize the President does not personally make decisions about the security of every embassy and consulate in the world, yes? Would you really want them to? It seems to me they have more important things to do. The President doesn't even personally make every security decision on the battlefield in Afghanistan and we lose way more than 4 people there. It's not possible.

Embassy and consulate security is not a President level task. Do you want to change that?
