There should be a new governmental system based solely around pissing people off.

We can call it Republicanism.

I don't think appointing her is a bad move for Norway in any manner.

So what if she's a muslim. It dosn't mean that Islamisation will rise in Norway. If Breivik hadn't just killed all those people because he feared islamisation would takeover Norway we wouldn't be making half the fuss about her religious beliefs as people are now.

She's a Norwegian, she has a right to be involved in her country's politics and whilst I do believe is interesting how the labour party has made this move, at the same time... Norway is a diverse society and of course there is going to be political figures from all different backgrounds. It is to be expected when you have such diversity.

As for being only 29, Some may think she's too young. However, I think it has its advantages. Being younger, she's used to having diversity and multiculturalism, she's more likely to have an open mind. One that will embrace the future of Norway. Older politicians are often likely to want to keep things as they were and are more closed minded in this case.

If Norway is a diverse society than it only seems logical to include diversity within the senior ranks of its politics.

I'd hate to see people read this article and then wonder if Brievik had a point. He dosn't. He's a nutcase and we shouldn't give him the attention. had the recent Breivik court case not occured so recent we probably wouldn't have even have mentioned him in this article.

Congratulate this girl... don't comment on her religion. It shouldn't matter. And if anyone thinks that by appointing her islamisation is coming to Norway, they should go and rot in the prison cell with Breivik as they're just the same as he is.

Norway is not like Sweden or France. Muslims there are still a small minority.

Also, she is not a hijabi muslim. She looks nothing like a radical Muslim, who will come to a western nation and threaten, demand ridiculous things etc. If anything, Europe needs more muslims like her.

Norway is showing their ignorance

Postby Freiheit Reich » Tue Oct 09, 2012 3:05 am

Islam is a cult, not a religion. Islamization is the most dangerous issue the world is facing today. Muslims are smart enough to know they can conquer democartic nations by immigrating there and changing the nation through their superior numbers. They can then create sharia laws using the European nations democratic policies against them. The only way to save Europe is to stop immigration from Muslim nations and deport any Islamic troublemakers back to their home countries.

How many Christians are invading Iran, Pakistan, or Somalia and trying to force their views on the people there? Norway is proving their ignorance again. Malmo, Sweden has a Muslim mayor. Islamization is happening because the Europeans are allowing it. It makes me sad to see this.

Christians are trying to force their views on me. How is she a troublemaker?

Also, Muslism come to Europe in search of peace and secularism, not to spread their religion. And remember the crusades, where Christians massacred Muslims in order to give more power to Christianity.

Something done by people who died centuries ago does not give Muslim extremists the right to do essentially the same thing now, two wrongs never make a right.

Only 5% of the Swedish populations are Muslims
and in France it is between 5% and 10 %

So muslims are a small minoraty in both France and Sweden

A Ministry of Culture sounds like the height of bureaucratic guff. I don't understand why a country, particularly one with a population under 5 million, would need to have its "culture" supervised and regulated by the government. Seems like a condescending waste of tax revenue.

Nanny state initiatives like political correctness (and organisations like 'Ministries of Culture', which I assume exist solely to press for it) will, if anything, be the undoing of modern, civilised society. I think appeasement inevitably morphs into masochistic self-destruction.

Edit:
Hmm. Okay. Looking further into what various culture ministries are involved in, maintaining zoos, libraries, museums, national parks etc, I suppose I can see the merit of having some sort of governing body to supervise maintenance of public institutions like that, but I think their role should be very limited. Perhaps to upkeep and restoration, refraining from stimulation and 'progress'. Though, I do suppose I like the BBC... :?
