I'm usually not one for conspiracy theories (well, I can't think of a conspiracy theory that I believe in besides this), but wouldn't it be tactical for al-Qaeda to produce this?

I mean, they have to have agents in the U.S. You don't even need them to produce the film. Just join an Islamaphobic group or two, talk with some serious anti-Muslim people, suggest the idea of a film and its storyline, try to push them to make it, etc.

It's really scary to think that a few people with cameras likely costing below $1,000 and props probably not even totalling up to $500 can do something like this, if al-Qaeda isn't just doing this to shake things up against Americans in the Arab World. If someone posts another two low-budget heavily anti-Muslim videos, what will happen from there? The price of terrorism just went down significantly.

But it would really be an ideal terrorist attack. I guess there isn't a chance that they'd do it now if they haven't done it in the past.

I'm just concerned that they could get some guys (they wouldn't even have to appear American, they could be masked) and make a video titled something along the lines of 'What we think of Muslims' and show a Quran burning with the U.S. flag in the background or some idiotic thing like that. It would be horrible.

Also, I didnt mean just light up a buch of unarmed civilians protesting. If they are throwing rocks or other debris at the embassy and over its walls, that doesnt justify deadly force. Unless of course those protesters decide to break down the gates and mob the building.

It does make perfect sense. The Middle East is so volatile that a couple videos or cartoons can create hell. Armed conflict over a movie. If it escalates, I'm going to assume the people involved are drunk.
