Stop making this out to be about polluters. I am more environmentally conscious than the average person, and even I doubt climate change because I don't doubt that deterring pollution would give the climate scientists a powerful incentive for dishonesty.

B:I consider the desired solution as being tough on consumerism, and punitive taxation on energy use.

We should do that anyway, if only because such energy is limited and we should be saving it for when we might need it more. But this is about climate change itself, not the otherwise pragmatic value of solutions to it.
