Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is that identifying your ethnicity is not exclusively American, nor did it begin in the US.

Meh I suppose your right, maybe if ill travel ill investigate this myself. I just know when people ask me I just say "American"

It irritates me too tbh. But I'm an internationalist so even identifying as an Aussie is touch and go. :p

You could do either, but if you push the other down, they will not be happy that you did that and will try to push you down.

Although pushing is more fun then climbing.

I just included every ethnicity I was that came to my head. Next census (if they have one) I plan to tick every box I can; or if it is written form I suppose I can create a concise paragraph.

AOTGNAT, d'you know what people dislike? The combination of bragging, blatant insecurity and the "YOU'RE ALL GOING TO LOVE ME!" (</Fluttershy>) vibe that you just showed in your post.

Not to mention the fact that everything you bragged about is either exaggerated or completely disproved. Nadkor pointed out that Sweden and the UK donate more foreign aid than America, for starters.

If I were to guess, I'd say people love kicking America down several notches because the delusional "WE'RE #1 LAND OF THE FREE" jingoism is just asking for it so hard. That, and Norway is more of a land of the free than the USA.

Maybe drop that whole "AMERICA FUCK YEAH" attitude and people wouldn't get the urge to deflate your pomposity?
