The only way to reach a conclusion is to have enough evidence that backs your theory. So far, no evidence, so no real argument can take place (unless we're discussing hypotheticals, which we aren't).

I love the life in the city, the constant never ending spirit of new york, the millions of people going about their lives and I can't really explain it I just love everything about it.

I do think it's kind of amusing though, you mentioning the "spirit of New York". See, a writer I like, Adam Cadre, lived in NYC for a year and he hated it. He said that he had to get out because he felt as if the city was "actively trying to kill him", and his descriptions made it sound like it was mostly populated by narcissistic loudmouths who get into arguments too easily...

With that in mind, what we are seeing in Afghanistan today is called "nation building". You can't just smash the existing government in an area and then walk away, that's the road to creating a failed state. That it made an effort to transform Afghanistan into a republican democracy isn't terribly shocking considering that's the system the US ascribes to and thus know best.

But go on, make a believer out of me: what is the US extracting from Afghanistan? What was it really after? Give us the real story.
