It is a rather inflated number, but I think/hope the point was more "I'm frustrated with the extent of Jingoism in US rhetoric and foreign policy" than "The US is an awful place, populated by awful people, and I-hate-it-I-hate-it-I-hate-it!"

I'd like to give that user the benefit of the doubt for at least the first post I've seen and chalk it all up to exaggeration brought about by tremendous frustration. My second guess would be that the user sees anti-US sentiments as a way to "fit in" in a counterculture, and so the attitude satisfies a psychological need for companionship and community. My very last assumption would be that the user legitimately hates the US and its people.

I think Eagleland flavour #2 is the main cause behind what some people consider to be "anti-Americanism".

It strikes me less as genuine anti-Americanism and more as annoyance. Sort of how Australians in WW2 mocked Americans as "overpaid, oversexed and over here". It's more annoyance than hate, I guess.

I'm from england and I used to think the USA was the best place on earth and I want to move there, and there was nothing wrong with it and it was all unicorns and democracy and freedom, but as I grew up I started to realise all the problems with it, the racism (in some parts) the deep divide of opinion, the gun crime, the homophobia, the sheer backwardness of some of it's people and that's just to name a few of the things.
However despite all it's problems I would still like to move to NYC one day but i'm pretty sure if many more problems arise in the US i'll change my mind.

I will tell you this, 90% of americans are ignorant about how the federal reserve works, Alot of americans are ignorant of the unconstitutional laws passed by this recent government. The majority of Americans dont realize why Iran is a so called "rouge state". Most americans are ignorant of the truth behind the current wars and has nothing to do with freedom. Most americans are ignorant the fact those who OWNERS this country distract the people with issues that cause them to fight each other while they rob us blind. Most americans are ignorant that we will only go after a "evil regime" if their are resources to exploit, or if there is a reelection coming up.

here watch this and start asking yourself some very hard questions.

No, it isn't. It's a cause for fucking celebration when a creepy guy who looks like that uncle who molests kids can't be elected based on his platform of irresponsibility, racism, conspiracymongering, goldbuggery and letting people fend for themselves.

It's fitting that RW's page on Ron Paul is headed by a Goldmember quote.

I dont feel need to back any of my statements up, cause even if i did we will still be having this conversation. Why may i ask? I think its because of nationalism and that anyone who is not for americans or back other american up without question are considered "enemies of the state".

So if you want to see if my statements are valid, you have the internet, you have access to Google, dont let me stop you.

And i do hope your choice for presidential office wins, and let me know how that turns out for you.

I love the life in the city, the constant never ending spirit of new york, the millions of people going about their lives and I can't really explain it I just love everything about it.

For example things like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcA-1XxGr3I even though it's a movie and it's staged, things like that do happen there and theres just so much sprit and life in new york, i'm not surprised it's called the city that never sleeps because if I lived there I don't think i'd be able to.
