Personally, the U.S has many defects (less than spain, but its becouse we have too much) and a higher proportion of americans are patriotic that, for example, in Portugal, Greece, Spain...

That sort of arrogance is the reason why so many people are anti American. I won't debate whether it's true but it does offend people.

If it wasn't for us then it is very likely that most or all of Europe and Asia would be under the control of Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, and Imperial Japan. It was American humanitarian aid that helped put Europe back on it's feet after the war. We are also the ones that thwarted North Koreas attempt to conquer South Korea.

It's true that America played a major role in these events but there were a lot of other countries involved that America overlooks.

When it comes to giving aid to other countries in need it is America that is the most generous. We give several times more humanitarian aid and money to poor nations than any other country.

It may be true that America gives the most foreign aid but that does not mean it is the most generous country. Other countries give a greater percentage of their wealth to foreign aid than America does. They just have less to begin with.

We have the third largest population, third largest land area,

Actually China has the third largest land area. America is fourth.

largest economy, and the most powerful military.

Military power does not make a country great. It usually means that a country does not value human life.

The reason people are anti-American is because Americans say things like this which are full of half truths and one sided histories.

Problem is that the haters have all the reason to hate. Whether they're being negative or not is open to debate but nobody can deny what the U.S did in Vietnam or Panema.

Yeah, well, keep in mind, the American people got America OUT of Vietnam, thanks to the peace movement. It was a horrible miscalculation by the political/military elite (mostly Johnson, his advisers, and Westmoreland), not the American people as a whole. Keep in mind, all the bombing Laos/Cambodia stuff, Nixon had to keep secret from us because he knew that it would cause a gigantic shitstorm in the States.
And Panama was entirely justified. The whole state was a violent narcocratic military dictatorship that actively threatened the Panama Canal Zone. Also, THEY declared war on US.

2)most of the constitution was written based off of Fench and English policies and philosophy.
3)Russia could have single-handedly stomped out Germany, Italy and Japan during WW2. Sure, America was keeping Japan out of the Pacific. Russia was keeping them out of China at the same time as they were steamrolling Germany. Italy was never a threat in the first place.
4)Nothing to say about that, the Korean war was pretty legit
5)we didn't defeat the USSR, the USSR did. Just because they couldn't keep their shit together doesn't mean that we defeated them.

And lastly, do you realise we've been essentially occupying the Middle-East for 10 or so years now, for absolutely no reason? We're a pretty screwed up country.

However, in the rare instances when America minds its own business, and lets other nations sort themselves out, the world screams, "WHY WON'T AMERICA HELP OUT!!! IT'S THEIR DUTY!!! THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE A POWER!!"

^Here, basically, other nations just use America to fight all their wars for them, and when America refuses to fight another war, we are hated for being "isolationist". Yet, when we actually do fight the war, we are hated for being invaders and aggressors by the same people who hated us for being isolationists.

It's very hypocritical.

The global anti-American sentiments reflect the U.S.'s involvement more so in foreign affairs from which they benefit. They seldomly provide humanitarian aid without seeing any political/financial reimbursement. This, it seems, is hypocritical.

However, on the Internet in general, the hate for the American people runs high, and hate of the South runs even higher.

Seriously though, the hate of the American people (and the Southerners), is extremely stupid, and people should knock it off.

The obvious reason why Americans run into anti-American sentiments more often through the internet than in person is simply because of the internet's ability to link people from around the world (thus exposing the individual to different viewpoints than from others within geographical proximity).

If you blame the world for thinking negatively about American Southerners, you should take a look at how your own American media depicts the stereotypes.

It's hard to call us hypocritical when the US shovels out $28.67 billion a year in foreign aid. And that's just government agencies. It doesn't even include the private second. Second place (France), gives a pitiful $12.43 billion.

If I say mere stereotypes about the Europeans, the Chinese, the Mexicans, or whoever, I'm called ignorant and racist.

Anyways, I don't support our media's negative portrayal of Southerners either. I have run into folks (most notably on YouTube), who actually believe that being born in the South somehow makes you less intelligent. It's very stupid.
