The Tea Party, as it is today, is a group of ultra-right wing conservatives bankrolled by the Koch brothers and other wealthy conservatives, that came to the height of its power in 2010 during the midterm elections. They then nearly sent my country to the brink by fucking around with not raising our debt ceiling, and are why the Republican party has become so viciously partisan that its own members (even Romney himself) either become ultra-right themselves or get tossed away behind the dumpsters.

Max Barry and his work seem to lean left. He is the founder and owner of this site.

I actually think that Max is either pretty centrist or apolitical overall. He says in his blog that he's relatively pro-capitalist, pro-corporate and pro-globalisation (http://www.maxbarry.com/2005/01/20/news.html) . I think I once watching a video of a lecture (don't ask me to find it though. I have no idea when I saw it and if I even saw it at all) that he gave on some event where he mentions that he disliked many of the practices he saw when studying marketing, so maybe the problem is that people look at his parodies of marketing departments and think it's a criticism of capitalism (in the same way that people often think Dilbert is anti-capitalist while the author said he wasn't)?

I'm a convinced libertarian and economic right-wing, and I also notice that there are almost no other Romney supporters on in the Romney vs Obama topic. It's true though that the age group that is by far the most represented on NS is generally more leftist than average. In some cases, even extreme leftism, as evidenced by all the communist/socialist topic on here. I do see a few very competent Romney supporters on he forum, but most seem to be avoiding the R vs O topic.
