Nah, some people do honestly try to be respectful, and are at least semi-polite

Others don't even give the effort, and use "politeness" to camouflage their douchery .

Strangely enough, I think I'm actually a centrist like you.

Socially libertarian, yeah, but fiscally I'm still making my decisions on what the most ideal path (to me) might even be in theory, let alone practice.

I'm not against free market either, I just don't believe people when they say "The free market will solve everything" or "Government can't do anything". As much as it has it's faults, it is a proven system, and a semi-respectable one if it has proper limits and structures in place.

Socially for freedom, economically undecided.

So you're like me for the past year...I thank the NSG community for providing me with the facts, figures, arguments, and statistics that have helped me sort out my political views on economics. And...I take the center stance- I'm not by any means a socialist- I think free markets should predominate as a system because it has a track record of encouraging innovation, creativity, rights of the individual, and economic progress- but free markets don't know all, and government has to be there to regulate and improve the market, and provide for those who are willing to contribute for the system ample opportunity to and take care of their needs while they are struggling. I'm glad I found a friend and ally in this vast sea of social democrats/socialists and shrill minority of conservatives/libertarians.

But he just said that he went left, right and then further right.
But for everyone else, I guess that applies. I have personally gone from -3, -4 on the political compass to all the way down near the corner.

Nah, he said he was left, stayed left, then went away, then turned right, then came back to the proletariat commune of NS.

1: Theocratic Fascist: Not any blatant left/right descriptors, but, given his attitudes, clearly right.
2: Libertarian Socialist: He went left.
3: Right-leaning centrist: Hint: He wasn't a centrist. Or right-leaning. More... reactionary. He went way back to the right.
4: Rightist Libertarian: Economic Libertarian, social reactionary. Right wing again.

Absolutely. Regardless, Nord isn't respecting people. He is explicitly stating that, where others disagree with him, he seeks to enforce his will upon them. Which is just as ridiculous as the liberal who seeks to impose their perspectives on those of us who disagree with them.

He (and anyone else who claims, "you are entitled to your opinion") is actually saying, "I disagree with you. You're still fucking wrong. Fuck off, I'm right.... nutbag."

The only polite way to disagree is to say, "I disagree. Here is why...."
