First off, the original theory of Communism as it was devised by Marx was not genocidal in any way or form, and even more, ideologies in general aren't genocidal, people are. Sure they may be urging for genocide, but that doesn't mean they're genocidal (which means they want to commit genocide), because an ideology is an idea or thought, and not a person. And besides, democracy is not an ideology, it's a form of government.

Ideologies (or moreover forms of government) don't stop other ideologies; people do, armies do, but stop stating that ideologies caused other ideologies to surge in popularity, that is 100% not true; people cause the spread of ideologies, the ideologies don't do that themselves.
