If we're lucky, we get immortality, space exploration, and computers in our heads.

If we're not, the class gap divides us and turns America and several other nations into shitholes, and atomic weapons are used against civilian populations for the second time in history.

Regardless, the environment collapses.

Actually, none of these are mutually exclusive...

Yeah, if you are immortal, you no longer need to eat or breathe, so what does it matter what happens to the environment?

"So we are told, this is the Golden Age, and gold is the reason for the wars we wage."
-- U2, "New Year's Day"

The United States will claim the Moon as a colony, having planted the American flag on the satellite. Corporations will promptly be given leave to rape it into the same abysmal state the earth has devolved into.

The next stop is Mars, which will likewise be raped by corporations, after which, civilians will be able to migrate to Mars and eke out a living in an agrarian community.

Russia will lay claim to half of Mars. Various pissing matches will ensue.

Finally, the US President (3rd woman to hold the office) will send troops to take Russia -- and her oil. The resulting conflagration threatens to destroy the world. The leaders of the US and Russia are brought before the World Criminal Court and sentenced to 50 years of hard labor.

Lol, no, we'd be sure to affect everybody.

Anyways, I see i as America's fight for continuing dominance. There will be some big shit going down in the next few decades. Also, hopefully, a realignment of how the world does things, and a more environmentally friendly civilization will emerge. Perhaps one that can reverse some of the damage we've already done.

Good: A cheap of producing, clean, renewable energy is discovered. Without having to worry about oil supply, we can breathe a little, and the price of many things drops. And libertarians gain more influence in the US. European Union dissolves. The US leaves the United Nations. Space exploration. Mobile devices lead to the death of the desktop computer. Websites such as Hulu and Netflix put an end to television. CD's disappear as music and videos become stored in clouds and internet databases. China's economy collapses.

Bad: Things continue as they are now. Cheap, renewable energy is discovered, but it comes much later. US invades Syria and Iran. Constant war. China gets more power. America becomes a police state. Idiocracy becomes reality. The temperatures rise considerably.

By 2050, most of Western Europe will become Islamic nations (if current immigration and birth rates continue).
By 2050, the American Southwest has an overwhelming Latino majority, and secessionist movements begin, as the Latino nationalists attempt to return the Southwest to Mexico.
By 2050, Southeast and South Asians become the majority of Australia.
BY 2090, English, as a language, is rapidly declining.
I am a staunch supporter of Austrian Theory economics as defined by Ludwig von Mises, and I consider myself to be a libertarian and I support Ron Paul Gary Johnson. Basically, I am a capitalist revolutionary

Look at the sea of green. There is one brown country on that map. That country is the United States. Afghanistan has agreed to the Protocol. Iraq has agreed to the Protocol. North Korea has agreed to the protocol, and they are quite probably the most backasswards country in the world.

So then it appears that America is not needed as a "leadership role" sinc emost countries have seemed to agree to it.

Further space exploration (and possibly migration), considerable advances in science, China's reign as the 1st World Power, possibly either the separation or the federalization of Europe, it depends (I am not 100% sure in either cases). Also possibly a new political idea further than democracy, a new form of energy, the passing of warfare to economics and the gradual absence of religion.

The fact that both these statements cropped up amused me greatly.
Don't be deceived when our Revolution has finally been stamped out and they tell you things are better now even if there's no poverty to see, because the poverty's been hidden...even if you ever got more wages and could afford to buy more of these new and useless goods which these new industries foist on you, and even if it seems to you that "you never had so much" - that is only the slogan of those who have much more than you.
