I think many of those votes are Atheists without Jewish heritage who didn't actually understand the point of the poll. Of course, I could be mistaken. That said, the percentage of Atheists far outpaces the percentages shown in more scientific polls, but then we aren't surveying the Jewish population at large. Rather, we're interested exclusively in the Jewish population of NS.

Most of the regular posters aren't Atheists to my knowledge. That said, it's not my position to determine which praise my cohorts accept and which they reject. In any case, we do have a few Atheists and Non-theists lurking about.

It happens on every poll.
It is unlikely that there are 745 Jews on NS. (Based the results of this: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=274092&start=4275 & the fact that Jews are minority, and only a minority of Jews are on NS, and only a minority of them are Generalites.)

Most of the sources I've read seem to contradict that percentage. For example, according to the source below, half the Jewish population of the United States doubts the existence of G-d. This, by itself, doesn't make them Atheists. After all, I am a Theist, and even I have doubts. The more important numbers relate to the ten to fifteen percent of self-proclaimed Atheists. I believe this number is slightly smaller in Israel. In short, we can conclude that while many non-religious Jews exist, perhaps somewhere between half and one third of the population, that it is at least plausible that religious Jews constitute a majority of some kind.

if i remember right the pew study had atheistic jews between 20 and 25% of jews.
