And correct me if I am mistaken.... but did you say the Talmud was the Old Testament?

The Talmud is the coded Oral Law..... along with the Rabbinical Law..... if you see it as such.

To me either someone's mother is Jewish because her mother was Jewish because her mother was Jewish.
Or you convert..... through the orthodox conversion process.

As far as the whole pork thing goes iirc God stated that eating an animal with four legs that did not chew a cud was unclean.
