Well you see in the Hebrew language (ancient Hebrew) s is not plural 'im' 'os' or the letter yud symbolizes plural..... so they just take the ancient Hebrew word and make it more 'modern'

Goy literally translates as Nation.

I'm a Christian with no Jewish heritage, and on top of that I've never actually met a Jewish fellow.

On the other hand I find myself extremely interested in Jewish culture (which I will admit comes primarily from my knowledge of the Old Testament or Talmud in the Jewish faith iirc.)

And correct me if I am mistaken.... but did you say the Talmud was the Old Testament?

The Talmud is the coded Oral Law..... along with the Rabbinical Law..... if you see it as such.

To me either someone's mother is Jewish because her mother was Jewish because her mother was Jewish.

Or you convert..... through the orthodox conversion process.
