It's true but the matter is that Jews lived in the diasporah and we've picked up some traditions from our gentile siblings but we shouldn't celebrate them, just look at Purim lol. Christmas is a more capitalistic holiday now and Sabra and non-Sabra Jewish children love it, this is why we added gift giving on Chanukkah. We as a people really need to move away from secularism, I don't feel we are like the exiles who return after Babylon and it's sad. We need to be true to HaShem and our Laws or we will be exiled again. Well... No, but you know what I mean.

Babe, you have no idea how many times I've heard jokes in my old school and work place. When we talk about the Palestinian situation a lot of my compatriots say we should "gass them" or "treat them the way the Germans treated us" because they're the real "untermenschen". Now those jokes are sick, as you know I'm a proud Zionist but before Zionism I'm a Jew and the ideals that come from HaShem are the most important to me. Many Israelis forget our laws, especially the fact that we must be better than the nations who persecute and hate us. We are the representatives of HaShem on earth and I take that responsibility very seriously, sorry I had to make a rant lol. Anyone agree with me?

Miamonadies says gifts should only be given to children in order to further their desire for Torah education.

Aw, so that explains why the only presents I ever received from my Aunt were books like The Little Midrash Says or Why Marry Jewish.
Edit: I can tell you that it had the opposite effect. I simply read the books and learned their arguments so I could more effectively mock people who gave me these arguments in person.

Come Babylon of old, and I'll accept such an exile with zest.
Secularism is the only way right now, at least for the country itself. Such troth won't lead us to golden pastures.

That's terrible! Hopefully if I have kids, they won't speak like that. It really makes me sick to my stomach to see how people could do stuff like this. Especially Jewish people with the holocaust.
