You don't need to have a Jewish mother to convert, but if your mother is Jewish you will also be Jewish, at least according to Jewish law.

If it weren't for them, you wouldn't be able to buy booze in Nablus. So I'm obviously pro.

Also, they seem to straddle the Jew-Palestinian divide remarkably well. So props to them I guess.
