That has nothing to do with fairness though. It has to do with avoiding the possibility of an arms race in a perpetually unstable region. And the fact that Iran signed a treaty prohibiting the construction of nuclear armaments while Israel and a few other countries did not. However, to eschew the risk of venturing from the central topic of the thread, namely all things Jewish, I supppose we should discuss something more substantial than Iranian leaders occasionally acting like wankers - with the notable exception of their president. He doesn't act; he merely is.

Many modern Jews think that the laws of kashrut are simply primitive health regulations that have become obsolete with modern methods of food preparation.

Most of those who keep Kosher now, only do it because the Torah says so.

If you look at it, the pig wallowed in filth, the shrimp and lobsters are bottom feeders. Vultures ate the infected meat of other dead animals. These seem more like regulations on health, then favoritism.
