Messi overrated? You are joking right?

No, I'm entirely serious. You may note the following:
a) I hate him.
b) He fails to perform at a national level.
c) His team couldn't beat Chelsea.
d) I'm completely insane.

This is the kind of extreme partisanship that has always made the idea of being a football fan loathsome to me.

Yes. It's my pointing out I have a definite bias against Messi which should be taken into account.

At least he's not El-Hadji Diouf, the signing of whom is a clear sign that a club's going downhill.

On which note, I'm sorry to hear Leeds have got El-Hadji Diouf.

Vince young had a few good years in tennessee. The eagle fans hated cunningham, I never understood why. There were other black players on the teams that were loved, so I would not call it racism, but that man was booed.

a) irrational - he has done nothing to warrant hate...in fact he has done much to foster a lot of appreciation given his background.

b) There are a couple of reasons for this and nothing to do with his ability but more with the team set up. Having said that he did score two hat tricks this year already...finally it seems that Argentina are playing to his strengths...he is now finally scoring goals. Like yesterday against Germany. Of course the real measure is in comps and not friendlies really. Having said that I would put some money down on him getting the Golden Boot in 2014, if I was a gambling man.

c) shit happens

d) evidently! :p

There's banter...and then there is insanity. The one thing that could make me stop being a fan is the girly nature of players these days. Falling to the ground as if poleaxed when there was no one with ten miles really fucks me off.

a) I never said it was rational.

b) He should be playing for the team, not the team playing for him. If that is his expectation then I will ammend "a".

c) It's more that a team saw a way to beat them and they fell to bits... as it were.

d) Here we agree.

I put down Brett Favre.Mostly because I have a general hatred of football (american football for those used to calling soccer football). Boring to watch, and without tackling, no fun to play in the slightest.I also hate how it eats of T.V. schedules. Can't they keep this crap on sports channels?Furthermore can people stop talking about this stuff or trying to talk to me about the super bowl?It is boring to me and the one time I tried watching it, the only bright spots were the commercials and I don't feel like sitting around waiting for the commercials. A surge of redneck activity alwas seems to rise up around that time of year too.
