It's supply and demand that affects prices and inflation. I would guess there's more people below the $42,000-ish (or whatever number you said in the OP) line than above, so you'd naturally have a dramatic increase in items bought as the poorer people in the nation start buying everything they can with their newfound, unearned money. This leads to inflation of commonly sought goods such as everyday foods as corporations struggle to meet the demand when they are paying every single one of their employees $42,000 a year.

Not to mention a completely reinvented economy that would take years to stabilize and may collapse before it can stabilize, further complicated by the significant anti-communist public opinion in the United States which would lead the nation to complete and total economical and political collapse. Countries can't just change their policies between the capitalist and communist system freely. Gorbachev tried by instituting reforms from communist to capitalist, and his country (USSR) collapsed and the Russian Federation fell into a deep economic recession that lasted for years until it stabilized.

Point is, your idea isn't possible.

Gabby Douglas, Bolt, Phelps, Babs Streisand, Clooney, Maya Angelou, et al didn't get there on her own. God bless these successful athletes and artists, but they need to payback. Do these athletes and artists really need more than $100,000 a year to live on when there are families living in the street ???

US GDP = $14 trillion divided by 330 million Americans = $42,000 a year.

Hence, what could be more fair than to give every American a paycheck of $42,000 a year. Moreover, since children are our most precious asset, someone like the Octomom, who has 14 children as of 5:00 pm EST, should get her fair share of $588,000/year.

These are self-evident truths:
