Nope. Statistics show that mixed gender units have the worst morale in the Army. You know a good way to turn life-long friends into enemies and how to produce knife-fights in the barracks parking lot? Throw in one, decent looking female into the unit. Next thing you know, you have a posse of guys carrying this soldier's tools, escorting her everywhere and everyone intenetly trying to get into this woman's pants and she is loving every moment of it, she is climbing the rank structure in more then one sense of the term.

If you want people to focus on the mission and focus on the job, you remove all distractions. A single female surrounded by 30 guys is going to serve as a distraction and you will have people going to their cave-man roots and fighting over her since she is like the last woman on earth in that tiny social group.
