I'm using brainwashed as an expression here.
And if you heard what they said, you would know they aren't apathetic. They consider every issue brought up by Fox to be a major issue in the US, and the rest of the world.
Which really sucks. They're wonderful people, I just wish they hadn't fallen prey to the Christian Right.

Not that either. They genuinely believe that everything Fox News says is true.

Fox News sucks in general. Them and RT fling that "fair and balanced" crap around. That's a lie. No such thing as fair and balanced news. It's either left-biased or right-biased.

There is news that can be unbiased. I find other country's news sources that report on news in the US(ie: the BBC, The Guardian, and, shockingly, Xinhua) to be unbiased on those topics. Once you start going into their own national and locally-international news, things get biased, though.

I don't give a shit about what Fox News has to say about anything.
When they defend mass-murderers they are no longer merely rivals or opponents or 'Worthy Adversaries' which I consider many of my fellow Generalites to be, they are my moral enemy, and I would gladly spit in the face of these people.

I don't see what Gabby Douglas has to do with it since the whole team was wearing those leotards. I don't think Gabby Douglas can be held responsible for the design just because she happens to be one of the more visible people wearing it.

I don't personally like the outfits for the gymnasts, but I thought the grey jackets were nice.

That's funny, when Douglas was done with her routine (at the competition where she won gold), I remember seeing her don a tracksuit in US colors. It was very strange.

I also noticed that the lolcute Russian gymnasts against whom Douglas competed were not wearing all their national colors, either. Perhaps Putin should hunt them down and shoot them.
Napkiraly wrote:Who cares? It's a damn leotard, she still won the medal for America.
Exactly. She won a frakking gold medal for the USA, and these idiots have the nerve to call her unpatriotic or "anti-American". :palm:

No. Stop it. That is lazy. Do better.

You remember when you were a kid and your mom caught you doin' shit? Ever try to get out of trouble by talking about all the bad shit other kids did? Did it work? Of course not. Because the wrongs of others do not absolve you of your own.

Furthermore, there is not just a bucket marked 'wrong' that shit goes into and if anyone has anything in that bucket, they're the same. Which is to say that CNN and MSNBC are not without their problems, but they are not the same.

"A pox on both their houses," especially when used as a poor disguise to dismiss an uncomfortable story, is at best political hipsterism as it is less concerned with any sort of analysis as it is looking like analysis by 'rejecting' both sides.
"...I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season." -MLK Jr.

That I never understood.

I had a boss who wore one of them...working in the Netherlands. Not surprising he turned out to be a Christian fundi neocon fucktard of the highest order.

Anyone who feels the need to wear that kind of symbol on their lapels tends towards the more extreme side of the right wing. Until Democrats also started to wear them. All is it is pandering to a notion of nationalism under the guise of patriotism. I cannot listen to these people without wanting to stuff my ears full of really pissed off African killer bees.

Political Conservatism is NOT the same thing as Right Wing extremism. Stop misusing words. Granted, there is some overlap between Political Conservatism and Right Wing ideals, but one's an apple, and the other's an orange.

Translation: stop conflating politics with economics, and don't fall for the usurpation of the vaguely-understood (by the masses) label "Conservative" (which a large chunk of the population was at least somewhat friendly toward, if not downright fond of) by those seeking to capitalize on the ignorance and fondness for their own economic and political gain.

Disclaimer: I'm not saying that either Political Conservatism or Right Wing economics are good or bad (well, no, I am saying that Right Wing economics is bad; as far as Political Conservatism, Political Liberalism, or Political Moderatism, though, I view each of these ideologies as self-referentially inconsistent). I just don't like the attempt to blur the distinctions between the two. Goldwater was Conservative. Mitt Romney is a Right Wing extremist.

An pundit on Fox News attacked gymnast Gabby Douglas for donning a pink leotard as opposed to the good ol' stars and stripes. Yeah, what the hell is wrong with her? I mean, I thought she was from Svalbard. According to him, this is indicative of the "soft anti-Americanism" that is prevalent in modern society.

Uhh...are Fox News commentators even serious? What the hell?

It's truly amazing that so many Americans would watch Fox more than any other news network. Do they tune in for laughs? Oh wait, I know. Go to Youtube, type in "Fox News" and look at the suggestions. Quality legs/boobs, er, uh, journalism.

its foxnews.

if it wasnt said by every host all day long its just one woman's (and her sycophantic guest's) opinion.
