It would be a very safe assumption indeed, but that would imply there are actually things in this world that are 100% safe. ;)

Indeed. Nothing is safe. The most we can do is to do proper research, take basic precautions, and seek moderation/balance in our lifestyles. Avoiding anything remotely dangerous as if it were the Black Death is impossible, and attempting to do so is a formula for wasting your entire life doing absolutely nothing worthwhile.

Anti-natalists would say yes. Or rather, they'd say that reproductive sex should be banned.

He said that sunbathing should be illegal because it can harm you?
Should smoking the desiccant pack from a bag of beef jerky be illegalized, too?

Also, being on a computer all day can lead to reduced eyesight, and, unless he's spending all of his time outdoors on a laptop (unlikely, since he earlier proposed illegalizing sunbathing), he's also putting himself at severe risk for Vitamin D deficiency.

It's not that you can't. It's that you don't want to. ;)

That can be made up for by drinking milk.

Yes, you can abstain from computer use. Quit your job and find another one. You picked the damn job. Take some damn responsibility.

No prostitute on the face of the planet will say "I can't abstain from sex; it's part of my job." They chose to enter a profession in which abstinence from sex is inherently impossible, just as you (evidently) chose a job in which abstinence from the computer is inherently impossible.

The West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion … but rather by its superiority in applying organized violence. Westerners often forget this fact; non-Westerners never do.

The most fundamental problem of politics is not the control of wickedness but the limitation of righteousness.

I can understand a fear of taking risks -- I can respect people who choose to carefully-plan their lifestyles and decision-making to make their lives as comfortable as possible.

However, there's a very, very distinct difference between actively working to minimize lifestyle-risks and pretending like avoiding everything is the solution to the world's problems.

I would like to take this time to point out that even after chemical castration one can still sex. It's not permanent and doesn't make it impossible for a male to have an erection, difficult, yes, impossible, no.

Then you are one lucky individual, you actually get to make a choice. Chances are, that's not going to happen.

And then there's another distinction between that last, and somebody who thinks everyone else should do/be forced to do the same thing.
I usually RP the Fourth Myyrian Empire, which is most certainly not just the Kin in disguise. Nope, definitely not the Kin in disguise.

I agree. But there is being afraid of risks... and then being perpetually afraid of taking risks.

One is a survival instinct, the other is a psychological disorder.
