It's impossible to obey the Christian God. Many of his laws are contradictory or impossible.
Example: Do not even THINK of the sin of adultery, lest you commit it in your mind, which is just as bad as actually doing it (ha).
Bam. You just did, as soon as you read that sentence - and now you're guilty of adultery. Why even try?

Oh no, thoughtcrime.

No, it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility. However, if it were a coma, it would contradict the story of the resurrection. Don't you think?

Religion is ignorant. It's just the way he says things like "twilight is silly" and then "the Bible is remarkable" so he isn't lacking in the courage to put his; albeit pointless, argument to the athiest wolves; such as myself, of nationstates.

Remarkability is in the eyes of the beholder-it is subjective. What you find remarkable may not be remarkable to me or other people. These predictions are simply vague comments that are like fortunetelling. Not based on science but on vague all-encompassing statements. Similar to horoscopes or astrology.

You'll find no contention from me there. I was just exploring a line of thought, considering the mention of the Shroud of Turin and then Jesus 'being in a coma'.

Well the Bible is remarkable in that it has served as a horrific tool of manipulation, corruption, and murder. Does that make it true? No. Why? Because there was never any evidence by default.

And woop-de-fuckin doo, it mentioned dinosaurs. The ancients weren't retarded, like how society assumes. They were just as human as we are, and were just as wise. We are more intelligent only because we have more resources and more information available.

Excuse me, sir. Seeing as how the V.P. is such a V.I.P., shouldn't we keep the P.C. on the Q.T.? 'Cause if it leaks to the V.C. he could end up M.I.A., and then we'd all be put out in K.P.

This is the most ridiculous, exaggerated, absurd, contradictory, idiotic, illogical, senseless, overstated, embellished and foolish thing I've read in months.

Just looking at it makes me... ugh...

For one, you're making statements without actually backing them up with facts! You're saying that the Bible can predict everything because it predicted Jesus' Coming as the Son of God, but do we actually have ANY evidence whatsoever that Jesus performed any of his miracles, he rose on the third day after being crucified, or that he was the Legitimate Son of God? No, saying that something is 'remarkable' doesn't instantaneously make it fact. And that thing about dinosaurs, could you actually provide some textual references instead of stating the verses and then saying that they're evidence? I could say Acts 3:9 provides the prediction that the first human genome would be mapped by 2003, it doesn't mean that it does though.

Just... Just... :palm:

Theres no denying that the bible has had a profound effect on humanity both politically and culturally so I guess you could argue that the book does has certain special or supernatural properties that had the power to hypnotize, inspire and drive individuals and entire societies and cultures into action and in some cases blood lust and convulsion, also the book has had the power of saving peoples lives

There are many cases where the bible has prevent people from going through with suicide

then again the book has driven entire societies to clash and fight with each other so....

But yes I agree the Bible is remarkable and I'm sure it will still be influencing millions of humans into the foreseeable future too

The contents could be entirely fiction but that doesn't alter the fact that the Bible has an incredible amount of power (although not as much power as it had in the middle ages maybe?) Also what would you call that power? "Culturally significance power" or that the collective will of its followers projected power onto the book etc I dunno
