Chick Fil-A Day!

Postby Rupture Farms co » Wed Aug 01, 2012 11:55 am

Also today is Chick Fil-A day so go get some. Reason for it is that the government is forcing places to close down on food chain because of they're Christian and anti-gay marriage. Google it. I was just at one, did not want to wait in two hours of lines, even of it was with fellow Americans, Christians. Apparently every store in the nation is at like full capacity. In fact Artie's back east has an ad campaign like "We support Chick Fil-A" and several others or just more simply "Eat at Chick Fil-A today"

The images of the massive lines may convince me to stay home. I was going to go, because chik-fil-a is sooo good. But... I don't want to wait in line so long.

If freedom of speech means having to wait three hours to get my chicken paint me red, give me a goat, and call me a commie.

The claim that the government is shutting down Chick-fil-a restaurants strikes me as complete bullshit.

I stopped taking you seriously with the underlined sentence. The location here in Troy definitely isn't at full capacity, and Troy is a fairly conservative city.

Yeah, everyone going to a restaurant at one time sounds like a bad idea.

^This, especially in an election year. Political suicide and all of that. But other than that, please, OP, provide a source that the government is going to shut down CFA.

It warms my heart and brings a single tear to my eye, this outpouring of support for bigotry and discrimination...it's just so grand that people can come together for such a noble cause as limiting the rights of people they feel are icky...

I mean, these people could have spent the day feeding homeless people or something, but then who would have come to the defense if a large fast food chain that public supports limiting the rights of the LGBT community?

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season." -MLK Jr.

It does to me too. But on a cursory read through this guy sounded like a leftie celebrating the closure of CFA so I thought I'd hit him with some sarcasm. Turns out he's pro CFA. So much less fun.

I'm about to go stand in line for hours in order to buy some CFA... I support gay rights very much. I just don't support boycotting a private company for their views unless they are much farther out of mainstream. Otherwise I would never be able to own a business ever in my right-wing town.

Unless the discriminate against LGBT individuals in their employment process or deny insurance to gay married couples (in states that allow it). But at this time, I don't think that is happening.

I read the entire thing, but it quit making sense on the second sentence. And if we removed the OP save for the first sentence, it is an advertisement, which means it'll get locked.

No one ever asks me my political views before I do business with them, and I never ask the political views of the companies I patronize. They have to make a big deal of it on their own.

And when they do, and when it's limiting the rights of a large group of people, that seems significant enough for me not to want to give them my business. This isn't a difference of opinion on whether the marginal tax rate should be changed or small government vs. large government or the role of the social safety net, it's about treating a group of citizens of the United States like second class citizens.

That seems like enough to make me travel a half a block to Pollo Loco for better chicken anyway.
