That said, I'm not surprised, considering the number of crimes in Saudi Arabia that can get you sentenced to a beheading.

Saudi Arabia's justice system is quite brutal and absurdly misogynistic, but at least they're consistent. I think I'd be more disgusted if they flogged rape victims, chopped off your hand for stealing, and yet handled vehicular manslaughter with a fine or a little prison time.

I've never wanted to chop off the head of the guy who stops at every single stop sign.... primarily because I would be the one stopping at every single stop sign... as that is what the stop sign means... to come to a complete stop.
Such heroic nonsense!

no, life sentence will be better. Let him suffer from his guilt for the rest of his life.
Then again, it's more than reckless driving. It was more like a murder/manslaughter to me.
I wouldn't really want capital punishment though. A life sentence is better, as I stated.

I do believe the Soviet Union had poor governance.

Yeah, it's not like Afghan girl's schools are being poisoned/burned, or that Wikipedia has an entire section devoted to acid attacks being prevalent in Muslim areas (some only regions of non-Muslim countries), or that a woman in Sudan was charged with things including prostitution for naming a teddy bear Muhammad and was demanded to be executed, or well, Iran - Just Iran, or well, this - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:World ... y_laws.svg

Afghan school girls being attacked. That's insurgency from the Taliban and other anti-government forces. Got any documentation on the official Afghan government making it a policy to attack schoolgirls?

Acid throwing. Four out of 51 Muslim majority countries. Got documentation it's also Official Government Policy?

The Sudanese Teddy Bear bit. Sudan. One out of again, 51 Muslim majority countries. Got documentation that Every Single One Of Them are like Saudi Arabia and Sudan?

Iran. One out of 51 Muslim majority countries, or 3 if you throw in Saudi Arabia and Sudan in the mix. Got documentation that Every Single One Of Them are like Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Iran?

I'll be waiting for you to provide documentation proving that Every Single Muslim Majority Country in the world are anal retentive like Saudi Arabia. Until then, you can save yourself time by just grunting "Durka Durka, Mohammed Jihad!" to get your point across.
Crimes committed by Muslims will be a pan-Islamic plot and proof of Islam's inherent evil. On the other hand crimes committed by non-Muslims will merely be the acts of loners who do not represent their belief system at all.

People who text while driving should have the offending instrument surgically implanted in their nether regions.

Our criminal laws are not about rehab or reforming a person's habits, but about the glee of inflicting punishment, after all.

It's Saudi Arabia, what do you expect? Saudi Arabia is only a US ally because of their oil. Most people don't like their civil rights record. Hopefully we can wean ourselves off of Saudi oil.

Why are people so opposed to beheading? If you really cared about people, you wouldn't be a capitalist.

The Russian mob during the days of Soviet Union suggests otherwise.

The Triads came up in typically above average governance, and socialism, so I think otherwise.
