Your right, this thread should consist only of people saying "pro-life" or "pro-choice" and then immediately leaving. This wasn't an opinion poll we're expected to discuss the issues.

I don't know if you were aware of this before you made your post, but General is something we like to call a "discussion" forum. Therefore, on these odd and arcane "discussion" forums, some measure of "discussion" is expected to occur when a new topic is put forward by an OP. Stating an opinion and whining in subsequent posts about the flaws in that opinion being carefully picked apart does not a "discussion" make.

If you're having trouble with this, you may wish to refer to a dictionary, as the term can be somewhat difficult to grasp if one is not already familiar with it.

Because I am expected to understand the law even without all of that. Police officers don't take "I didn't understand what the law meant" as an excuse.

Anyway, if you wanted to talk to professionals, you wouldn't be posting here.

If you don't know what you're talking about you shouldn't be posting here. It's generally understood when you participate in a conversation that you either have some understanding of the subject or you'll acknowledge you don't rather than try to tell people who do that you know better.

No, it's not.

When someone makes a single post, which is LITERALLY "abortion is wrong. it is murder" and than leaves, are we supposed to make an essay-length point-by-point post that explains how they're wrong?

Nah, I'm pretty sure "point-and-laugh" is the acceptable response.

No, he's right. If you don't know what you're talking about don't post here. Seriously. You don't have to be a professional but you have to at least have an understanding of the subject- which you don't.

There's a difference between being a professional and not talking out your ass. It's not at all unreasonable to expect participants in a discussion to have some knowledge on what their talking about. You started making absurd claims that a quick google search could tell you were wrong and when people pointed that out to you you stuck to a position based on nothing but your assumptions.
