Old news, I know, but the Italian fencers dominated the Women's Individual Foil. All three medals were obtained by Italian athletes. Gosh, I feel so patriotic!

Well, going to see the cycling road race wasn't really worth it if I'm honest. An hour of waiting for them all to go bye (apart from 1 or 2) within about a minute or two. Still, better than not seeing anything. And quite exciting to see my local area on TV

They rebroadcast the archery thing, so I got to see it actually awake.

What struck me most was the inversion of national stereotypes...the Americans were fit and good looking young guys and the Italians were pudgy scruffy dudes with silly hats.

Of course they're pudgy scruffy dudes with silly hats and gold medals, but still...

Also, handball looks made up.

There were what, one or two events where we could have realistically hoped for a medal? And road cycling on a flattish stage is always a bit of a crapshoot, moreso than usual in the olympics.

There's the women's road race tomorrow which we have a good chance in.

New Zealand set a world best time in the rowing. Hence why I am optimistic for a couple of gold medals from the rowing. And the cycling for that matter.
