Bolt! Bolt! Bolt!

A Jamaican 1&2. It's a shame about Gatlin getting a medal, he doesn't even deserve to compete.

This nation should not be taken to be representative of my real-life views, nor should any of the nonsense I posted on here as a teenager.

If Tyson Gay had timed his lean slightly better, he'd have been the bronze medal winner. In the words of Michael Johnson, he "robbed himself" of a medal.

But he certainly held on to improve his Olympic Record. He still retains control of both, which is amazing.

Valerie Adams was left off the list to compete in the shotput. Perhaps the British didn't want her winning another gold medal.

From the looks of it he pulled something.

Tlking about pulling muscles, a real shame for Powell. He got a decent start but then something went.

They showed that on bbc and you could see the foot that claimed bronze, while Gay's lean was too late for it to make any difference.

I'm going to leave you guys with a question to debate: should Bolt use a standing start? His main weakness is that he always starts slowly. Being taller, Bolt takes longer to get off the blocks and into his stride. A standing start would help him get those huge legs pumping from the gun and possibly into world record times.

Not sure what you mean about world records as he already is the world record holder with a 9:58...

I loved watching the footage from yesterday as well...when Mo won his gold...they went nuts...

I quite like Mo as well. He looked really choked during his medal ceremony....so much emotion in these Olympics. Never seen anything like it...

Mo's my favourite out of our medal-winning athletes. I don't know why, I just seem to like him.

No, just really no.

The blocks allow the athletes to put more force horizontally than a standing start where more of it is lost vertically.

Bolt might get into his full stride sooner, but he'd be traveling significantly slower and take longer to hit his top speed.
