Must have forgotten how Saint Peter > God.

Saint Peter was chosen by Jesus as the rock the church will be built on, so he has the authority to do things like that.

That tradition is a weak argument when something has changed so many times already. Your 'tradition' is fairly new.

Must, be great be more awesome then God and Jesus and getting to tell them that their rules have no meaning.

Moreover, if I remember the passage correctly I am positive that it only says that it was now allowed to eat any type of animal not that they could violate other dietary concerns. Aka why Christians were still not supposed to consume meat with blood in it.

I'm aware. I'm just saying that you're wrong on almost every point you've made, that every argument you've put forth is laughable and juvenile and you don't have a leg to stand on.
I'm RPing a distant past tech nation populated nearly exclusively by three foot tall bipedal mice who are undergoing subtle speciation due to long lasting social policies.
If this is too ridiculous for you, you might want to opt out of RPing with me.

Then the entire Protestant Movement happened, and suddenly the Pope isn't so "chosen by Jesus" anymore for 65% of the Christian population in the United States.

The pope can do the same thing today as the descendant of Peter. It's called papal infallibility.

The elements of the institution of matrimony are still being passed down; it's just that not all elements are passed down. It is being done to accommodate to the current world. Would you prefer us to hold onto the other elements, and continue slavery, and stone disobedient children, and adulterers?

Nope, I'd prefer to do away with the bigotry we hold onto and open up every aspect of society to all consenting adults.

Um not really, if the Pope was to declare something completely contradictory to Jesus/God's teachings then the Church would shush him up. Aka the Pope cannot just declare that adultery is no longer a sin.

Read my post above yours. Again, 65% of Christians in America don't acknowledge the Pope's authority.

They clearly do, though, as I don't see them avoiding pork, not wearing clothes with mixed fabrics, or not eating burgers with cheese. So, they at least acknowledge Saint Peter as infallible.

You know, you can selectively adopt a few of somebody's teachings without accepting them as utterly and totally "infallible."

Or they are hypocrites who pick and chose what Bible passages to follow, and unless they are Catholics they likely don't find Peter infallible.

So? They're inconsistent.

Edit: Everyone chooses what beliefs to follow. Like, you choose which political beliefs to follow, and so does everyone else -- it's a personal choice.

Actually, about Chick-a-fil-a: I've never heard about them until now because we don't have those up here. And if I saw one I'd deliberately go elsewhere in protest. Maybe grab a little KFC instead.

I shall not be watching any more muppet movies from now on. :p
Anyway, it is an idiotic reason to stop supporting them. I guess muppets hate honor, kindness, and morality.
"He who denies the existence of God has some reason for wishing that God did not exist." --St. Augustine
"There is only one difference between genius and stupidity: genius has limits." --Albert Einstein
"When statesmen forsake their own private conscience for the sake of their public duties... they lead their country by a short route to chaos." --St. Thomas More

Secular/Fundamentalist 67%

Anarchistic/Authoritarian 6%
Communist/Capitalist 41%
Pacifist/Militaristic 7%

Because we're decent and oppose irrational intolerance.
