Is it the younger generation or the older generation? I live in Texas and it's not a problem usually (although I've been to the poorer parts of Texas and it's horrible) with the younger generation. And when it is, it's not because they're Christian, it's because they're closed-minded assholes in general.

Younger generation

I didn't know the Muppets had a connection to Chick-fil-a, but I'm still eating there nonetheless. It's so good.

I'm waiting for when the Muppets get on FOXNews again, this time as "Gay Agenda Provocateurs" or something like that. And it wasn't too long ago they were being bitched for supposedly being anti-oil activists because of their latest movie.
Crimes committed by Muslims will be a pan-Islamic plot and proof of Islam's inherent evil. On the other hand crimes committed by non-Muslims will merely be the acts of loners who do not represent their belief system at all.

The Black Forrest wrote:Never tried them but it seems their President decided to use his position to preach gay marriage is bad.

The Muppets decided they were no longer worthy.

From their facebook page:

The Jim Henson Company has celebrated and embraced diversity and inclusiveness for over fifty years and we have notified Chick-Fil-A that we do not wish to partner with them on any future endeavors. Lisa Henson, our CEO is personally a strong supporter of gay marriage and has directed us to donate the payment we received from Chick-Fil-A to GLAAD. (http://www.glaad.org/)

https://www.facebook.com/notes/the-jim- ... 8864755563

I do like Chick-fil-A's statement:

Chick-fil-A in a statement said it has a history of applying biblically-based principles to its business, and that it strives to treat everyone with honor, dignity and respect.

I used to believe in the BS line of "hate the sin but love the sinner" but I quickly learned it was just a nice way to feel good about treating others bad.

You are not worthy of marriage but we love you......
You would think the zealot loonies running Chik-fil-A would have learned not to be capricious zealous assholes in public after they sued a small-scale farmer for a non-existent copyright infringement. Then again that would be expecting that the capricious zealous assholes learned something the first time 'round...

They already went through that when they introduced an HIV muppet in South Africa. Fox ranted about stolen childhood, etc. The HIV people in South Africa simply shook their head and said it was already stolen as there isn't a child who hasn't had a friend or relative die from the disease.

Chick-fil-a is a franchise. The owner picks the music, not the corporation. I'm sure founder Trudy Cathy and those that follow her lead probably have a Christian purity test for wannabe franchisees, but I'm guessing that doesn't include requiring them to have Christian music playing.

That's not an atheist thing. Lots of atheists are quite happy with Christians, in general - even if they are in opposition to some specific Christians.

Personally, I find it hard to even consider the militant homophobes as examples of Christianity. Their intolerance just doesn't seem to match the red-letter Christ.
