eyeroll no doubt! i agree that christianity is the main problem, but since we cannot and should not keep people from believing whatever they want to, all we can do is keep church and state separate by not teaching creationism or any other theories on our origin. maybe an elective "origins" could be offered, but only if it also includes 'ancient aliens' theories too.

um i took biology a loooong time ago in high school and 1.) what i learned has not been much use to me 2.) i don't recall that much talk about evolution at all only in regard to our origin which is not a topic that should be taught in public schools because it is tarnished by religion AND not important in life except for, like i said, you are seeking to label yourself as intellectually superior or you are trying to basically avoid hell.

there are lots of proven facts* that are not taught in school and even if evolution were a proven fact, isn't a subject that is as important as basic math and english (or whatever language) in real life.

*i don't see how it is possible to prove that we are the product of evolution except through theories and googling around the internet or whatever since we can't create a planet and make life appear yet.
