What?
"The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders. raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did."—former Nixon domestic policy chief John Ehrlichman

A solid nope from me.

Now, on a small scale, Communism would probably work better than capitalism. But on a large scale? If the old USSR, North Korea and China are anything to go by, humanity can't even handle socialism, let alone true Communism, for just one country. Worldwide? About as likely as Stalin rising from the grave.

If the people are made to help each other, it's socialism.

I think that communism may be possible after a few more millennia of progress.

Yeah, I suppose that once you eliminate the private property of the means of mass production and substitute it with a system where there's no Mehrwert output anymore, you could call it a form of communism.

What does communism have against ambition? And how can you say a competitive economic system comes from human nature when a gift economy predates it?

Why do people think of communism, a system where you get shit for free and no one controls you, is altruistic and collectivist?

None of those societies were socialist. North Korea doesn't even claim to hold communism as their ideology any more.

I marked "possibly" because no matter what, there are greedy humans. It is a primitive instinct to want more than others, so some will naturally rise up and try to take more. However, if this primitive instinct were to vanish, then it would work perfectly.

What does communism have against ambition?

Ambition for power and wealth accumulation to be more specific. It's wasteful and does not benefit the society, only the individuals (or class) that happen to be in the best starting position.

Meryuma wrote:Why do people think of communism, a system where you get shit for free and no one controls you, is altruistic and collectivist?

It is collectivist because the means of mass production are held by the collectivity.
It is altruist because "from everyone according to his ability, to everyone according to his need" is quite altruistic.
And no, theorically in communism you don't get "shit for free". You have to contribute with your work, according to your ability.

No, seriously, Jesus performed a lot necromancy... such as reviving other people and resurrecting as a ueberlich. Basically, all Christians - expecially those who believe in transubstantiation, like Catholics - are into necromancy... so... Joseph Ratzinger is the Pope of Necromancy already.
