In order to violate civil rights, you have to be:

1. The state
2. Using force.

Private schools fit neither condition.

Seriously? Where do you get this from?

Yeah, but the Playstations that hermits make suck. Mostly just mud and twigs and a frog that if you poke it croaks...I think that's supposed to mean it's 'on', but that's kind of all it does.

I don't know, it's got some pretty strong competition.

Nebraska had won deemed by the fact a police officer arrested Barack Obama because he was an illegal immagrint.

If police officers are supposed to be the ones to protect us from the stupid, we're screwed.

Really? Why do US politicians have the continued idiotic idea that the United States was founded as a Christian nation when this was clearly not the case. I mean i'm from the United Kingdom and I know this is not true! Why does some supposed patriot not know the basic facts surrounding the foundation of the country they claim to love so much. :palm:

Because only the State can legally use force except in certain circumstances, and to violate civil rights you have to use force.

The irony is that a lot of countries founded and centered around a religion now end up being more secular than the USA.

Proud to live in one of those strangely secular religious countries.

Did you know that only 11% of K-12 students are in private education?

So when you say "schools should be private" you're proposing to apply a model which works for 11%, to over 90%. Such a massive change needs a good reason ... "the state is evil" is NOT a good reason.

Some of the states were founded around a religion, though, namely Maryland and Catholicism.

Or rather, the people that make up the state think that you're greedy and more likely to refuse to do the right thing if they give you a choice. So they restrict your ability to make egregiously wrong choices, like dumping hazardous waste in a lake.

Iirc, it was a police officer going all Birther on Youtube. He was wearing his uniform, which is a bit off, but he was off-duty and not speaking in an official capacity. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

If you think that the only cases in which civil rights have been violated are the ones which involve the state and violence, then you have an incredibly incomplete understanding of history.

No. Force is not necessary to violate civil rights. No. Just. No.
