The NCAA has never considered the MAC any good. They should now.

If that happens, given Notre Dame's recent football scheduling deal with the ACC, wouldn't it make sense to have ND join the ACC in football now? UConn will now try to get into the ACC, leaving the Big East once again looking to replece them (ECU finally? or maybe UMass/Marshall/Buffalo/Army?)

If ND moves to the ACC, that means no more scheduling high ranked opponents, no high ranked opponents schedules means no more media love, and no media love means no national title.

So I'm guessing you're in favor of it, huh? (as am I); BUT since the ACC is part of the playoff pool conferences, all they have to do is win the ACC title, go 11-1 and they're in the semis.

Only drawback is that ND's would be force to choose which 3 rivalry games mean most to them? ND-Navy and ND-USC will never go away no matter where ND plays.. just a matter of the 3rd one. Is it Purdue, Michigan State or Stanford? (The Michigan rivalry will go on hiatus in 2015 when the ACC scheduling deal starts). The main reason why ND hasn't joined a conference is the $$. They're getting almost $25 million/yr from NBC, while they'd only be getting around $8-10 million from the ACC ($10-12 from Big Ten or Big XII or SEC). But the ACC's TV contract is up for renewal in 2017, and NBC, because Notre Dame would likely try to bid and may pay enough that ND would be join and still get the same amount of $$. It's all about $$. If the SEC could guarantee Notre Dame $30 million a year at 8:00am tomorrow, they'd be the 15th SEC team by 8:01am.

Off that subject.. K-state's losing and Oregon's struggling... guess that Alabama fans are drooling for a Baylor and/or a Stanford win, huh?
