Yeah, sorry I can't respect a team whose fans were Florida and LSU fans not long ago.

And your "life story" made me feel so bad. I'm so sorry for what I said, and you totally convinced me that tornadoes are linked to being an Alabama fan. Maybe, just maybe, this explains the recent surge of Bama supporters.

From this story

So relax, Alabama (or Georgia) fans, your BCS hopes aren't nearly as dead as the rest of the non-SEC world might have you believe. Unfortunately, should at least two of Notre Dame, Oregon, and K-State lose, it's still not a given that Alabama deserves one of the two slots in Miami. They will probably get it, mostly because, well … Alabama. Starting the season at no. 2 and rolling over opponents until last weekend meant a loss to Texas A&M only dropped the Tide three spots. The problem is that those opponents were never much to begin with.

Michigan never played up to their preseason adulation, and the records of the Tide’s next six opponents following that win in Dallas are as follows (SEC conference marks in parenthesis): 6-4, 4-6 (2-4), 3-7, 5-5 (2-4), 5-5 (2-5), 4-6 (0-6). The only team with a winning record in that stretch is Western Kentucky, which currently sits tied for fifth in the mighty Sun Belt conference.

The first seemingly legitimate opponent Alabama played was Mississippi State, on the last weekend in October. Going into that game, the Bulldogs were 7-0 against Jackson State, Troy, South Alabama, Middle Tennessee (four non-BCS conference schools) and three conference foes who currently have a combined zero SEC wins — yes, Tennessee, Auburn, and Kentucky are 0-20. So even MSU might have been just a tad bit overrated heading into Tuscaloosa. The Bulldogs lost their next three games by a combined 76 points.

Basically, Alabama has played two tough games — LSU and Texas A&M. They are 1-1 in those games. Sure, if they win out, Alabama would add a win over Georgia to its résumé, but you can — and should — similarly belittle Georgia's schedule.

Isn't that basically what I said a couple weeks ago before the Miss. St-Alabama game when trying to figure out why Alabama was getting so much repect in the Computers?

But despite that article's claoms, the Alabama-Georgia winner will be in the BCS championship if any two (or 3) of ND, K-State or Oregon lose.

My question is : IF Florida State wins out (@ Maryland, vs. a 10-1 Florida and bowl-eligble Miami in the ACC title game) and is 12-1 AND Notre Dame, K-State and Oregon all lose a game between now and Dec. 1st; shouldn't the Seminoles (who only lost by 1 point) be considered for a title berth? (and I'm not a 'noles fan either).

I think Oregon will lose to either Oregon State, Stanford, USC/UCLA. Just too many good teams in a row (they haven't had any hard opponents, except for USC) and the injuries are taking a toll on the Ducks.

Kansas State might fall in Texas. Mack Brown pulls things out of his hat sometimes, so we could see an upset next week. Not sold on Baylor, though.

Notre Dame plays Wake Forest. They're 5-5, which is better than Pitt or BC's records. The Irish might come up with another win, but they will be tested by Matt Barkley and the Trojans the following week.

So I'm thinking there will be a good chance that at least 2 teams undefeated now will fall. Two fell last week (Louisville and Bama), and this is the week where things shake up in the BCS, too. But if all three of them lose games, Florida State WILL have to beat Florida next week. That could possibly happen..but the Noles should get some consideration nonetheless. Man, I wish we had a playoff, would love to see Bama v. Oregon, K-State v. ND and the winners face off in the NCG. These next three weeks will be very interesting!

No. I don't care how many point a team loses by, they still lost.

FSU is over-rated anyways.

So with FSU it's all about wins and losses, not about the circumstances behind it, but when Alabama loses it IS about the circumstances. Ok, gotcha.

Like you? Sorry, I don't label bandwagons as "loyal fans".

So because I emtnion Alabama's national titles, I automatically become a bandwagon? Let me tell you something, I've lived in Alabama all my life. I live 50 miles away from Tuscaloosa, a tornado destroyed a town just down the street from me. I've been following Alabama football my whole life, and you call me a bandwagon fan? Until all of the stuff I listed above happens to you, shut up.

Just because a tornado happened in a neighboring town doesn't mean you can't be a bandwagon fan.

Actually they are, even if 2 of the top 3 lose, the media isn't going to let Bama play for a national title. Not again. Meaning #1 and #3 would play for the national title. The media hates Bama, so they aren't going to let them have a chance at another national title. That's the way it's been since Bear Bryant was there.

So how do you explain this?

1989- Played for national title
1992- Played for National Title
2009- Played for national Title
2011- played for national title

Since 1982 only Miami and Nebraska has played for the national title more.

also The AP poll (media) doesn't count towards the BCS, their rankings don't really mean anything in terms of the BCS as the BCS #1 and #2 only matter (until 2014!).

Pure luck. In 2011, they just wanted to see LSWHO beat Bama again. 1992, They wanted Miami to win. 1989, Bama lost. And 2009, They wanted Texas to win another national title to prove Colt Mccoy was a god.

Why can't it be like it was back in the old days? #1 and #2 played for the national title, no BCS, no voting, no bullshit. Just fair playing.

See above. For many reasons, but mostly because the "old days" you described have never existed.

There's only two (maybe 3) good games this weekend:

#2 Oregon v. #13 Stanford
#18 USC @ #17 UCLA

and maybe you can count #22 Rugters @ Cincinnati, since both still ahve a shot at a BCS berth.

Everyone else is either playing a pay-me game (looking at you SEC....) or not-so-great conference teams (K-State/FSU/Michigan) or a middling ACC team (Notre Dame).

The big irony of this season could be that Ohio State finishes 12-0 (very well could); be the lone unbeaten team (50/50 chance) and could win the AP national title (somewhat unlikely). If Ohio State was eligible, I think they'd be #2 in the BCS, just barely ahead of Oregon.
