Well the Division 1 record anyways, as it says in the article itself, the NCAA record was set a couple of weeks ago by a guy who threw 736 yards. but still impressive.

Qazox' TOP 11 (wk 4)

Postby Qazox » Sun Sep 23, 2012 8:20 am

(Remember the #8 spot is for the best non-BCS AQ team of the past week)

#1- Alabama (def. Florida Atlantic 40-7) LW: #1
#2- Florida State (def. Clemson 49-37) LW: #3
#3- Oregon (def. Arizona 49-0) LW: #4
#4- LSU (def. Auburn 12-10) LW: #2
#5- Georgia (def. Vanderbilt 48-3) LW: #6
#6- Notre Dame (def. Michigan 13-6) LW: #11
#7- South Carolina (def. Missouri 31-21) LW: #7
#8- Ohio (4-0) (def. Norfolk State 44-10)
#9- West Virginia (def. Maryland 31-21) LW: #9
#10- Kansas State (def. Oklahoma 24-19) LW: NR
#11- Stanford (OFF WEEK) LW: NR

Fell Out: Oklahoma, Clemson

Why did LSU drop, despite winning? let's see... FSU and Oregon both played ranked teams and took care of business; while LSU struggled against an Auburn team that's looking like a 6-6 or 7-5 team at best.

Boise State's top 25 ranking this year is a complete fraud. We've now played three games, and in two of them our offense failed to score a touchdown. However, we have a schedule full of patsies to beat down on for the rest of the year and will not lose again. There is a lot of inertia in the rankings, and ranked teams that win will stay ranked, so you will probably see the Broncos bounce in and out of the top 25 from week to week. Don't buy it. This is a mediocre BSU squad at best living off the 2007 class's name.

I usually rail against BCS conference teams for this stuff, so I'm swallowing my own medicine, but someone's gotta say it. This Boise State team sucks.

The system correctly predicted 20 of 25 of the AP top 25 discounting position, and two of those it picked in the proper position (Alabama, which it has picked consistently, and Michigan State at #20). Of the five teams it missed out, three (West Virginia, Clemson, and Louisville) are in the top 40 (within fifteen spots of making the top 25), one (Baylor) is at #41, and only Oregon State is in a completely different orbit (#70, although it gained ten spots from last week and has gained 30 spots since it started the season at #100, without ever dropping week-to-week).

Pro: O'Reilly technical books, crew-length socks, Slide-O-Mix trombone lubricant, Reuben sandwiches
Anti: The eight-line signature limit, lift kits, cancelling Better Off Ted, Chicago Cubs

To be fair, Oregon State's win shocked the hell out of us as much as it did everyone else.

70-63 final (I wasn't that far off)

Between the two teams:
1337 yards passing
1511 total yards of offense
Geno Smith: 45-51 656yds 8 TD's
Nick Florence: 29-47 581yds 5 TD's 1 int
One WR from each team has 10+ catches for over 300 yds each

Just an insane game.

Qazox' TOP 11 (wk 5)

Postby Qazox » Sun Sep 30, 2012 12:50 am

Most impressive win of the day: Nebraska coming back from losing 20-3 at the half to beat Wisconsin.

(Remember the #8 spot is for the best non-BCS AQ team of the past week)

#1- Alabama (def. Ole Miss 33-14) LW: #1
#2- Oregon (def. Washington State 51-26) LW: #3
#3- Florida State (def. South Florida 30-17) LW: #2
#4- Georgia (def. Tennessee 51-14) LW: #5
#5- LSU (def. Towson 38-22) LW: #4
#6- Notre Dame (OFF WEEK) LW: #6
#7- South Carolina (def. Kentucky 38-17) LW: #7
#8- Middle Tennessee State (3-1) (def. Georgia Tech 49-28)
#9- West Virginia (def. Baylor 70-63) LW: #9
#10- Texas (def. Oklahoma State 41-36) LW: NR
#11- Kansas State (OFF WEEK) LW: #10

Fell Out: Stanford

It may seem like I'm not respecting LSU, but winning by 16 at home over a team you should beat by 40+.. something's not right in Baton Rouge, but i just can't put my finger on it, yet.

Every sportscaster everywhere is in love with Geno Smith.

Next thing you know, there will be Geno Smith merchandise.

The wretched WVA defense, to me. takes some of the lustre off his achievement. He HAD to get all those TDs, or lose.

Best game of this weekend?

#23 Washington @ #2 Oregon
#4 LSU @ #10 Florida
#5 Georgia @ #6 South Carolina
#8 West Virginia @ #11 Texas
Miami, FL v. #9 Notre Dame @ Soldier Field
#21 Nebraska @ #12 Ohio State

Damn tough choice, but going with Georgia-South Carolina; though all 6 games should be pretty damn good.
Of the 6 listed, LSU has the best chance to win by 20+ points, and I'm a gator fan.

Florida has basically given Alabama the SEC West.

Big Props to Iowa State for knocking off TCU. That's the 3rd ranked team in 4 years that the Cyclones have beaten.
