Damn been too busy the last two days at work to watch the last two Bowl games :(

Lost with Florida and Won with Orgeon 19-12 with 4 games left!

Florida's offense was the main reason why they lost that game (and lost to Georgia, and almost cost them 3 or 4 other games this year). If the offense can get their shit together next year, expect FLA to be one of the favorites to win the title.

I'm honestly surprised that KSU's offense was held off that much during the game. Going in you would think Kansas would have realized that the spread option that Oregon uses means that they might have had to adjust a bit, but none of the pics or blocks that carried KSU to the Fiesta Bowl this year were really on display.

But, still a good game. Not as close as I would have thought, but still a good game.

Most of this is true, I'd just like to respond to a couple things in it.

1. Every team pads their schedules to some degree. If not with FCS schools, then with really bad FBS schools. Alabama scheduled then-#8 Michigan as their opener, it's not their fault Michigan absolutely sucked this year. My point is, Alabama is not trying to schedule only awful teams for nonconference, it just sorta turned out that way.

2. I live in Oklahoma (though I'm originally from Alabama), and let me tell you they arenot as good as people think they are. I get drowned in massive vats of kool-aid from the Oklahoma media, which also thinks Bob Stoops is the messiah. OU is overrated, and Bob Stoops does not have the skills to win a national championship in the modern era.

I'm an Alabama fan, but I'm the first to admit that we're not in the national championship of our own accord.

In 2009 we needed Terrence Cody to block two field goals at Tennessee to beat them.
In 2010 we needed OSU to lose to Iowa State on a field goal that was good, but was not called as such.
In 2011 we needed a freak loss to Baylor by KSU and an upset of Oregon by Stanford.

While I think, straight up, Alabama has a very good team, that is only true when they play their best. And really, they aren't playing their best, and they haven't for a while.

Again, if they're so good, why don't we see them setting out to prove it? Why didn't we see Alabama at least take on Oregon or West Virginia or Oklahoma in addition to Michigan, you know, Bowl winners from last year? Why didn't they play on the road more often? Why didn't they have a return game during the regular season against

I'd expect the winners of last year's BCS bowl to be willing to step up and prove they're worth their own hype. I'd expect them to re-enforce their winning ways by beating bowl-winning teams in their own backyards, rather than trucking in eventual 7-6 and 1-10 teams more than one time per season to their home stadium.
I expect a championship-winning team to act as such and prove it, especially with all the ballyhooing that Alabama and other SEC teams receive. Until they do try to live up to their hype during the regular season, until they commit to that challenge, then I refuse to view any declaration of Alabama's supposed "greatness" this year as puffery wrapped up in delusion.

Well it isn't just Bama we're talking about. I agree it isn't their fault they had a bad schedule this year. When Bama created their NC schedule, they expected to have a schedule that was probably in the top 25 for toughest schedules. Then we find out Michigan sucked, especially in the beginning of the year, and most of the SEC teams they played sucked.

But there are other teams who have no one to blame but themselves for their terrible schedule. Georgia? They chose FL-A, Buffalo, and GA So. That's God awful. A&M? They chose LA Tech, SMU, SC St, and Sam Houston St. 2 FCS schools and 2 C-USA schools. Florida? Bowling Green, LA-Lafayette, and Jacksonville St. "Da fuck is dat?"

I'm not saying the Big Ten is that much better, but it's definitely better. OSU had Miami (OH), UCF, Cal, and UAB. At least Cal is a BCS conference school. All those games were at home though. PSU had Ohio, @VA, Navy, and Temple. No FCS schools again, and a semi-decent Navy team. Plus they had to go to a BCS conference school. Nebraska had the worst schedule in the B1G. So MS, @UCLA, AR St, Id St. 2 FCS schools, but they had to go to a very solid UCLA team that won the Pac-12 South. Michigan had Bama, Air Force, UMASS, and @ND. You can't argue with that schedule. No FCS schools, and they played both championship teams.

The top teams in the B1G have far better schedules than the top SEC schools. Most, if not all of the lower tier B1G schools have at least decent schedules too.

That's not an argument, it's a pitiful deflection. As if I would expect anything less from a *typical SEC homer.

*T-sak is the only SEC fan in this thread that I would argue is a typical SEC homer. The rest of you can actually hold a logical conversation.

20-11 with the Oregon win yesterday. Still on pace to match my record last year of 24-11, but outside of the Cotton Bowl, these last ones are gonna be tricky.

I won a tenner for that.

I was shouting at the TV that it was a safety, and my friends all thought I was retarded. I bet them money, and won.

Great, so I guess I win this argument if that's all you have to respond with. It's not all your fault though, considering the education in much of the south.

Aaaand...what's the problem with that exactly? He's making the case of people being "haters", yet by not updating his poll, by all appearances he's the one that's "hating".
