3 straight BCS wins for Stanford. The old Pac-12 is dead, folks. USC's throne is gone. Oregon and Stanford have taken its place.

Wisconsin has lost like, what? 2, 3 BCS bowls in a row.

I didn't say win. I said represent the state well, which they will almost certainly do. And they'll probably keep it close too. I don't think they have even close to the talent Florida State has, but they have a chip on their shoulder and Florida State doesn't.

Yep. Lost to Oregon last year and TCU the year before that.

So far today I'm 4-1 so far (damn you Michigan, but I like Bloomin' Onions better than Coconut Shrimp, so I got that going for me...) making me 17-11 on my picks.

EDIT in: 5-1 on New Year's Day and 18-11 overall. Only 6 more bowls left, so I clinched a +.500 record

7-3 after 1 quarter, and NIU has outplayed FSU so far. The longer this game stays close, the greater chance NIU has of winning as FSU will likely begin to try to press.

18-10 so far....5-0 today.

Got to visit Tampa and see the Outback Bowl today (and sit on the crazy Carolina side.) Great comeback win by the Gamecocks, now counting down the days to Miami!

Well I was somewhat right, FSU ain't scoring anywhere near 100, Torisakia.

And that last play just about killed any NIU chance of a win.

The Huskies have played a bit deer-in-the-head-lights tonight. But NIU has played a hell of a lot better than Hawai'i did a few years ago.

The Huskies kept it nice and interesting for a good portion, but I really have to question the play calling this past quarter. Especially the defense causing FSU to make mistakes. We aren't going to win, but it was a good try.

Well, I don't think anyone is surprised by the result. Florida St is the superior team in every facet of the game, and we knew that. They're just flat out smaller too.

Congrats on the season anyway, Huskies. In my opinion, you should have came into the game a little bit more "Aw shucks" rather than with swagger. It probably helped motivate FSU, and the only chance NIU had was FSU coming in unmotivated.

No, they shouldn't have come out with either swagger or "aw shucks"

This is the land of sporting giants after all. This is a place where sports legends aren't remembered because of their style or their "swagger", they're remembered for their work ethic and relentlessness. This is the land of Williams, Singletary, Grange, Sayers, and of course Payton.
THATS what the Huskies should have studied up on and adopted, the attitude of "We're going to run your ass over and over until you can't get up...then keep going until there are no Seminoles left, just mush "

Oh well...maybe next year.

No amount of studying hard nosed Bears players is going to change the fact that they are physically outmatched, especially on the line. They tried to take on the tough guy image, and Jordan Lynch had a quote that was straight up bulletin board material for FSU. You don't give teams bulletin board material if you're NIU.

Correction, they took on the wrong tough guy image. They took on an SEC braggart tough guy image, instead of not saying much and building up a wall of hype. They emulated the wrong kind of tough guy and tried to mach the overblown mannerisms of Florida State rather than let FSU run their mouths and put their foots in it.

Then again, they could take this loss personally, work on things and adjust accordingly, and maybe next year...

What? I picked FSU to win 41-3. I never said anything about them scoring 100. I said it'd feel like 100 to NIU. And I'm not sending you a penny, too bad.

5 days till Alabama is reigning champions again. Everything's over but the crying for ND fans/supporters.

They say schools with high academic standards cannot compete with the all-out football factories like Oklahoma or Auburn.

Tell that to Northwestern, Stanford, and Vanderbilt.

Which is what they should have done in the first place: not talk. Play the media like Tebow would (WWTD?), practice hard, and take care of business on the field. They still may not have won, but they would stand more of a chance I think.

As in, football is their priority and academics is no priority at all? That works for me. Just because they miss Cam, doesn't mean they're cracking the books.

Here's an SAT ranking of schools by conference. Auburn turns out to be in the middle, which is higher than I thought. But I think there's a big gap between Florida and Georgia academically, and Alabama and Auburn.

Why? Because they beat the preseason #1? I must remind you that GT got murdered by Georgia. And Georgia got murdered the following Saturday.
