It's illegal to discuss football before the 4th of July.

Free sports speech is ok with me but I also do wish we had less basketball and football talk during midsummer.

There are real games going on even as we speak, meaningful head to head competition om a sport which is loved by tens of millions of fans.

Yet sports talk radio calls this the "dead season". Why? Because they have contracts for Monday Night football and NBA playoffs and college bowl games, but no big contracts for baseball, that's why.

I judt hope that the Eagles finally get their shit together and have a good season. They have too much talent to suck so bad.

I am also interested in how well RG3 does for the skins. God knows they need a good QB.

you all need to go to an Indians game! They are relevant this year, competitive! They need your support. Render it now lest they become dispirited and depart for friendlier venues
...I'll bet Nashville or Memphis would welcome them.

I watched Rocky Colavito beat the Yankees more than five decades ago; the Tribe were impressive then. In northwestern PA there were more Cleveland fans than Pgh fans back then.

who thinks the bills have a better chance then the colts in making the playoffs this year?

(The bills have not made the playoffs since 1999)

It's all NBA chatter! Seriously? The CAVS?

Now, the Browns are legit. Let's talk Browns. They are in a super tough division but they look well balanced with no obvious holes. Trent Richardson is amazingly strong, has a good motor, good sense of balance. Know what other RB was known for those qualities? The immortal Jim Brown. I'm just sayin'.

A bit off-topic, but I was wondering why rugby isn't catching on that much in the US.

There are Division I colleges with a better chance of making the playoffs than the Colts. :p

If Ryan Fitzpatrick does well, I can see them getting in, I guess.

It was this year, and remember it could be worse. Had it been the Raiders you would have had to disown me. :D

At least I didn't get taken away by your temple guards.

Last season, they only lost one game to the Chiefs, and then they got beat in the playoffs. To the Giants, the current champions, if I'm not mistaken. So I think it's a reasonable bet.
