My money's on 13-3 and winning the division. I just don't see the punishments being enough to handicap the Saints, regardless of how Goodell feels about the subject. If anything it gives them motivation to not rest on their laurels and bring a Superbowl to New Orleans at home just to prove the point.

Speaking of the Superbowl. Do you remember when the Raiders face the Buccaneers int he Super Bowl? Guess where the teams have gotten to now...

"From the start, Judge Berrigan sided with Vilma and noted that the steps taken by the NFL when gathering, processing and using its information to mete out justice were specious at best. When Peter Ginsberg, Vilma's attorney, said that Vilm
a was suspended for cart-off hits, and there was no specific proof of Vilma's involvement, Judge Berrigan responded thusly: "I would like to rule in Vilma's favor. I do think you [Vilma] exhausted your remedies."
Judge Berrigan then dropped the hammer: "If I can find a way to legally do it, I will rule in Vilma's favor."

Idk about for you guys, but for me that's pretty big news. Though I do have a striking feeling that the Judge is a Saints fan,

Or it just means there no enough evidence to support the punishments, which is my leaning.
Look at the Saints Unsportsmanlike Conduct penalties over the past few years. With the exception of the Roman Harper Late hit on Steve Smith and the 2009 NFC Championship game against Minnesota, they are a pretty Saint-y team. Than you look at Vilma, and his unsportsmanlike conduct penalties over his career are almost nonexistant. It doesn't add up overall.

Even the NFL release of two "cart offs" against Carolina 2-3 years ago is bullshit. Two players were carted off, but one was on a kickoff iirc, and the other was a Carolina DB. There's no way that money could exchange hands amongst defensive players for Cart offs when none of them were on the field and so on.
Even with all this going on, the only big loss (assuming they all lose the appeals) is Vilma, and they have replaced him with a better player in the form of Curtis Lofton, and they only lost one other player for four games i believe. Their chances of going to the SB are the same as last years, pretty damned good (better than Green Bays anyway, they wont have so easy a schedule this season).

I think so too, and I think Will Smith should be cut anyway, his production doesn't merit his paycheck. Keep one of the younger players there, imo.
