NFL is considering changing the rules to disallow overloading one side of the defensive line during a PAT.

Why won't they just eliminate the damn PAT? Seriously. Get rid of it. No likey.

They won the last two games. And a bad defense doesn't preclude Smith's skills. He is still a great QB. Was the top Heisman candidate for a few weeks if you don't recall.

Yeah, the safety position in particular is pretty pitiful. He's old, but if they could splash around enough money to get Woodson to stop looking so intently at the Niners that could be a possible, albeit stop-gap, measure that could be complimenting by drafting a safety early on that could step up in a year after beinf Woodson's understudy as a riokie.
