I don't know if he'd fit into Kelly's system, but I think Foles might be the better QB and give Philly more of a chance in a hardfought division.

Foles needs more time before he can be a decent starter.

I think he'd just need a supporting cast and a system which worked for him, i.e. the opposite of Kelly's.
I post what I mean to say.

I just read on ESPN that Michael Vick has only played all 16 games in a season once in his 10 year career. I don't want that as my starter for a team with one of the highest paid coaches in the league.

I'm not sold on Foles. I don't see a whole lot of difference between him and Kevin Kolb, for example.

Now, I don't know that Vick is the best option, but I do know that QB isn't where Philly's problem is, imo, it's the Offensive line.

If the Quarterback is constantly under fire, I don't care if you're Joe Montana himself, you're not going to play well, and you're gonna spend most of the season injured.

Look at the best offensive teams in the NFL, New Orleans, New England, Green Bay, etc., they all are noted for their line play.

Re the poll question, Alex Smith's QBR has been great. He can throw for distance, when asked.

he was never a failure, he just wasn't Harbaugh's guy, not his "chosen one". He makes better decisions than Colin Kaepernick.

Here's Peter King (I know, I know) praising Alex' performance at Arizona last season, it was near- perfect: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/w ... k-9/1.html

I personally think Smith is better. Kaepernick suffers the same problems that RG3(though I am a fan), Vick, and others of that type suffer: He runs too much.

Smith will last you a decade or more with a good O-line, Kaepernick only has as many seasons as he can stay uninjured.

As was Dallas in it's glory days.

Eagles need a non-injury prone QB. Vick is too much of a liability of a team in need of rebuilding. They do need a OL, no argument there, but they need a solid, young, healthy QB behind that line as well. One who will fit Kelly's type of Offense.

Hey did you hear the news on Foles not being available to trade to the Chiefs? I think Vick's job as starter may not be safe... Honestly the Eagles need to turn to a young QB to start rebuilding for the future.

Now if only my Lions can get Reggie Bush or Dwight Freeney so we can save ourselves from having to draft either position in a high round. (SO much work to be done.) I agree on the Offensive line, but Rodgers had trouble all season with his O-Line, but he still dominated most of the teams he played. Sure you can take a ton of hits, but if your smart, you can manage. (The Catch.) Now before you go all out and give a million and a half excuses. Bill Walsh new of a weaker pocket, and developed the roll out pass for his team and had Montana experiment with it all season in practice. (For that moment they really needed him to run.) Maybe the Pack's coach is greater than everyone is giving the guy credit for, just as much as it is on the staff to fixup the playbook to account for weakness' and strength's, it is on the players (QB, D-Captain), to adjust the plays when necessary/ notice the important things of the opposing team. It is a team, not just Rodgers for the Pack, or Johnson for the Lions (bad example for the year, because they played all Calvin, but maybe a Peterson, Vikings reference would be better placed.).

TaQud, I can't see Joe Thomas leaving the Browns. He's quite happy where he is at. And didn't he sign a contract extension not too long ago?

it seems like an alex smith deal to the cheifs is all but done. Course i stil give it a 40% chance that this won't happen. Maybe a bit more.

Tyrann Mathieu only did four reps on the bench. That is almost unthinkably low for a NFL athlete.
