I think you have overrated Griffin. Luck, Roethlisberger, and Manning all put the offenses on their backs. Griffin was pretty much babied for half the season. He was spectacular while being babied, but I think there's something to be said for guys like Luck who were thrown into the fire like he was.

Anyways, I had NFL 32 on and they were discussing QB rankings. We had that discussion before the season, but I feel a new discussion is warranted after the season. Based off the 32 starting QBs, here are my 32. The "elite" are bolded. The only reason I do that is because these days everyone wants to claim that there are like 8 elite quarterbacks. I'm here to tell you 25% of the starting QBs can't be elite. I narrowed it down to 4 this year, but it doesn't have to be at 4 all the time.

1. Rodgers
2. Brady
3. Brees
4. P. Manning

5. Ryan
6. Flacco
7. Roethlisberger
8. E. Manning

25. Tannehill
26. Sanchez
27. Palmer
28. Cassel
29. Weeden
30. Locker
31. Henne
32. Lindley

Freeman at #22? Say what?

Freeman wasn't losing games for Tampa, his defense was. When Freeman's hot, I'll take him any day of the week.

Admittedly, I'd like my Bucs to pick up Tajh Boyd in next year's draft (if we do badly enough to have him available, anyway) and get Freeman out of the gate, but still, Freeman is easily better than Ponder, Cutler, and Schaub and arguably better than another five or so ahead of him on the list.

He had some solid games, but Schaub is easily better than Freeman, as is Cutler. I'll retract my statement that Ponder is better... for now. Bottom line is, Freeman had a TD-INT ratio of 2-9 in the last 3 games of the season, which is not what leaders do.

But due to his upside, I will move Freeman to 20, ahead of Ponder and Bradford. Just barely ahead of Bradford though.

True. Those players I've essentially lumped together, couldn't really decide who is really better than the other

Brady sucks and this is coming from a New England fan. Ryan Mallet needs to step up.

He's too old now, he should just retire. He's lost the last three Super Bowls.

yeah but he stil kept the pats elite even whent they had no d our running game. He is probably the only reason why the pats are stil elite. So now that I think about it he does need to retire, no more pats in the playoffs every year. it would be a dream come true

It all depends on how Ryan Mallet plays though. I think he can be a great Patriot player.

Thing is, football is a team sport, not individual competition. Good QBs need a good line, good receivers, a good RB. Otherwise they will never shine.
Matt Stafford needs an RB.
I have no idea why team after team ignores the O line, but it hurts people like Big Ben and Michael Vick.

And Eli.

Now the Giants canned Bradshaw, in favor of a kid who fumbles a lot. No more play action passes for you, Eli.

I agree about the improtance (often overlooked by fans) of a good O-Line. And As a fan of Big Blue, I was ticked when they took Fumbleman ove Bradshaw...

As a Cowboys fan, David Wilson scares the shit out of me. There aren't many running backs in the league that have his kind of acceleration and burst to the edge.

Ball security can be taught. 4.4 wheels and a ridiculously fast first step can't. When he figures things out, Wilson's gonna be something.

Even though I voted for Cleveland in the Poll, I think he will go to the Bills because they got a better offense than all of the above except other in the poll...

I think Smith will end up with either the Bills or the Cardinals; I'm not sure which would be a better fit, but Larry Fitzgerald is Arizona's only plus.
I post what I mean to say.

I think Arizona or Kansas City in regards to the Poll. I voted for the Cardinals, but those are the only two options i see.

he fumbled once, and he did not play a down till like the 11th game. I loved bradshaw but he is not the back he was when he came up, his explosiveness is gone, though to be fair he just had foot surgery, he was 100% most of the season

vick gets killed for a reason, he holds onto the ball way to long,

but other than that i agree with you, most important part of an offense is the line
